I don't buy that line of thinking. If he's ready to play, he plays. If he's not, he doesn't. I don't think they'd rest him vs one team over another... he's not wired that way.

I don't think he is near ready based on what they say that he has been eating basically mush and has lost a lot of weight...

They can win without him... especially because the Sens don't have, nor will have, Spezza.

You can get mush that is very nutritious and full of calories. I seriously doubt that he would have lost a lot of weight. They have the resources and personnel to do pretty much anything they want, including hooking players up to an IV in-between periods. Nutritious shakes would be easy.

That said, he has missed a lot of on-ice time and certainly won't be 100% (just look at Karlsson).

Bruce Garrioch seems to think the game won't start on time.

I hope the ice is good.. we don't want any groin injuries or worse..

So does that mean that we *weren't* icing the best lineup on Saturday?

I would still rest some players. O'Brien, Wiercioch, Latendresse in. Kassian, Smith, Gonchar out.

Via Mendes: Bruins, Jagr (flu) and Horton (injury) won't play tonight vs BOS.

Via the Bruins twitter:

In warm-up rushes, looks like Daugavins up w/ Lucic-Krejci, Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin, Soderberg-Kelly-Peverley, Paille-Campbell-Thornton^CS

Defensive pairings in warm-ups: Chara-Seidenberg, Ference-Boychuk, Redden-McQuaid ^CS
