He was obviously a little over his head in that game but towards the end he didn't look out of place and you could see that he could very well be an NHL player right now let alone next year.

I was supper impressed with what I saw, personally.

Plus, he hit a post coming in left to right in, I think, the second period. Decent looking wrist shot.

I would say it's more of a quick release than anything. Not a ton on the wrist shot from a pure power perspective... he will get stronger though and he needs to.

Good debut though.

He looked pretty good, was hard to notice him on the ice at first. HItting the post in his first game was nice.

Will be interesting to see how he does over the last 3 games

He hit the post with one of his shots... and stopped a goal... so I say for his first game he did okay. A lot better than Weircoch in his first.. but you can't compare the two positions. D is a lot harder to play.

tim1_2 wrote:I didn't get to see the majority of it. How did Da Costa look? Sounds like he didn't get too much ice time and wasn't really noticeable when he was out there. That was probably to-be-expected after spending all of one day with his first NHL team. I saw a couple clips of him in the warmup taking direction from the other guys on what to do.

I was really impressed. In the 1st he was nervous, but still managed the puck really well, in the 2nd on, he was buzzing.
