If you can ad Simmons in there for greening and another piece you're robbing them blind. Maybe it's too much of a nhl14 type of trade but with Holmgreb, you never know.
Give credit where credit is due, I started the Giroux to Ottawa rumour a few days ago. And yeah, it's way too NHL14, and I don't think Philly is dealing Giroux anytime soon...especially not if the main piece going back is Spezza. I don't think we're trading Spezza anytime soon either.
As you say, though, with Holmgren, you never know. Maybe if the deal were something like Spezza + Cowen + Anderson for Giroux + L. Schenn + Mason...but then we're starting to get into ridiculous territory.
Anyway, back to the game...not exactly a thing of beauty, but it's always nice to beat the Habs. Too bad someone didn't get a chance to cave Gallagher's face in after he ran Lehner, but it was also nice to see another team run up the PIMs against us for once.
Smith went 10-3 on faceoffs...Turris 11-10, Spezza 12-8, Grant 3-1.
I wish they'd actually play Kassian a bit when he's in the lineup. The guy isn't a total liability out there. He had 3:22 of ice time. Borocop only had 12 mins of ice time, but was a +2 and had that goal. MacA was a +4...that just seems like such an incredibly smart signing right now, it's not even funny. With his 2 assists, he now has 13pts in 15 games.
