Oh for sure and I said the same thing on Monday, the difference between Spezza and Turris right now is so large that no one is ignoring it anymore. Hopefully Spezza keeps putting up the points though because if he's a PPG guy he could fetch a ton at some point.

Wonder how long it is until Anderson is a Panther or Oiler?

Methot is a beast, so is Lehner. Amazing stuff!

Giroux is our man. He has to be dealt.

Ya right now I'd try and see if there's a deal to be made with Philly. Don't know the framework but spezza Anderson for giroux and mason. If you can ad Simmons in there for greening and another piece you're robbing them blind. Maybe it's too much of a nhl14 type of trade but with Holmgreb, you never know.

Living and working in a Habs obsessed environment is prob the best thing about nights like these.

Not only has he very little chance to be dealt, it certainly won't be for Spezza lol.

Lehner Laugh1

On Gallagher hitting him: "It got me going, He hit my head hard there but it's fine, I'll get him someday"

Give credit where credit is due, I started the Giroux to Ottawa rumour a few days ago. And yeah, it's way too NHL14, and I don't think Philly is dealing Giroux anytime soon...especially not if the main piece going back is Spezza. I don't think we're trading Spezza anytime soon either.

As you say, though, with Holmgren, you never know. Maybe if the deal were something like Spezza + Cowen + Anderson for Giroux + L. Schenn + Mason...but then we're starting to get into ridiculous territory.

Anyway, back to the game...not exactly a thing of beauty, but it's always nice to beat the Habs. Too bad someone didn't get a chance to cave Gallagher's face in after he ran Lehner, but it was also nice to see another team run up the PIMs against us for once.

Smith went 10-3 on faceoffs...Turris 11-10, Spezza 12-8, Grant 3-1.

I wish they'd actually play Kassian a bit when he's in the lineup. The guy isn't a total liability out there. He had 3:22 of ice time. Borocop only had 12 mins of ice time, but was a +2 and had that goal. MacA was a +4...that just seems like such an incredibly smart signing right now, it's not even funny. With his 2 assists, he now has 13pts in 15 games.

MacT? I assume you meant MacA(rthur).

Looks like Lehner has matured. couple years ago that little stare down with would have ended up with him going sledgehammer on Gallagher's watermelon (some of you will get that). This time he just stared him down, took down the number, there will be plenty of chances later on. Revenge is a dish best served when the refs aren't looking.

Still got outshot, but given that this was the Habs (a notoriously fast team) I'll take 34, no problem.

Bit of a subdued game from Karlsson. I guess we shouldn't expect him to get 2 points *every* game.

Funniest moment of the game was Subban in full flight losing the puck at center ice with no-one within 10 feet. He has nowhere near the same quick acceleration as Karlsson, but he does have a pretty good top speed, especially when does that "slingshot around the sun (net)" thing. But his puck handling is not very good.

Man, what is going on with Spezza? Really hoping it's his groin. Looks like we can get by without him in the East but we're going to need him against the West.

I did indeed mean MacA. Yeah, the whole Spezza thing is pretty disappointing right now, but here's hoping he can turn it around. You'd think if it was a nagging injury, they'd just sit him down again for a couple games, especially since Turris is firing on all cylinders. Maybe he's not in great shape yet (nagging injuries through training camp), or maybe he's just trying to adjust his game a bit after not playing too much over the past year (like EK). Regardless, we have to hope that things improve for him, as we'll need him to be big for us going forward.

Where did I say Spezza.

To say he has very little chance of being dealt is incorrect IMO. He's given up on the team./

He may have given up but Management won't deal him. Holmgren will be fired before Giroux IMO.
