In that case they won't make the trade. I still don't see why they HAVE to deal Ryan unless there is some real friction in the room.

Is he finally sick of being called Silver by Getzlaf ? Laughing3

I think there must be. I don't think those 3 are co-existing very well.

For all the drooling being done over these guys, something is definitely wrong. You have these 3 then you have Super Saku and Teemoo Salami, who are no slouches and the team sucks. No wonder they are being peddled.

It all started when Pronger was traded and Neidermayer hung 'em up.

Then it continued with Hiller having terrible vertigo and never bouncing back really.

Then it got bent over when Bob Murray decided to be a fool and trade Gardner and Lupul for Beauchemin. Now...they look terrible on D and are scrambling around all the time.

That's why I could see Ryan going, but I'd be shocked if he went for a package of prospects and not a young D-man with considerable upside...like...I dunno as an example Marc Staal - not that that would happen, or I'm sure they want Cowen.

Burke did well in that Beachemin trade. In all honesty, Burke has made one bad trade (terrible actually) but the rest have been home runs. Phaneuf deal, Lupul + Gardiner, Cody Franson for who again????

Something is definitely up in Anaheim. That's practically the same team that went to the post season last year, minus Neidermeyer and Pronger. I guess Perry isn't in hart trophy mode.

Their defence has been bad since Niedermayer and Pronger left and now Hiller isn't anywhere near as good as he used to be. Vishnovsky seems to have gone downhill as well.

Those are two huge holes aren't they? That's like saying Detroit is pretty much the same team if you take away Lidstrom and Kronwall.

My point is that despite those two being gone, they still found a way to the playoffs last season right???? Its' the same team, then why the big drop in standings?

Yeah that's a big reason for sure, though u'd think with Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan, they'd be able to compensate. THen again, is there EVER any compensation for production from the back-end....

Precisely. Somethings stinks with their Big 3.

Cam Fowler over achieved last year in a huge way, that was a big part of it.

Fowler player way over his head and Hiller isn't stealing games every night.

Anahiem is also losing a ton of cash right now and the playoffs are a pipe dream, they are bleeding cash and getting a 20 million dollar contract off the books without taking anything back is in their best interest.

Which is why I expect Greg Andersen to go to Anaheim as part of a deal for one of Perry, Ryan or Getzlaf.

Oh boy, I want it more every minute. Toronto can't even make a deal if that's the case as they're at the cap.

who's got the lowest cap hit of the big three in Anaheim?

B-Murr should be careful to not interrupt the locker room chemistry. Everyone is feeling pretty good and a bad apple is not what this team needs. One of these guys also means no shot at Parise in the off-season.

Anyways, if people want to talk about the guy that will be added to the top 6 come the deadline or close to it, I would bet heavy money on Ruutu from Carolina.

Agreed. That's about as big as we'll go. If we are going to make a huge trade, it would likely happen at or after the draft, if Parise is off the table. Why give up a 1st+++++, when we can get a guy that is arguably superior for nothing (other than lots of cash) via free agency.

Getzlaf and Perry both have contracts expiring after next year, so does it REALLY make sense to dump a 1st, Zibanejad, etc for a guy that might be here for one year? NOOOOOOO. All this nonsense is giving me a headache. Parise is Plan A, of that, I am sure.

Diddle, their contracts expire after next year? Too much risk there too then. Ryan it is.
