Agreed. That's about as big as we'll go. If we are going to make a huge trade, it would likely happen at or after the draft, if Parise is off the table. Why give up a 1st+++++, when we can get a guy that is arguably superior for nothing (other than lots of cash) via free agency.

Getzlaf and Perry both have contracts expiring after next year, so does it REALLY make sense to dump a 1st, Zibanejad, etc for a guy that might be here for one year? NOOOOOOO. All this nonsense is giving me a headache. Parise is Plan A, of that, I am sure.

Diddle, their contracts expire after next year? Too much risk there too then. Ryan it is.

The fact that we're even talking about potential deadline additions blows my mind. Can't believe how well this team is doing this year.

I know...ain't it great? I hate getting my hopes up...I just love playoff hockey so much. Although it is hard on my heart.

Yeah, even regular season games now that we're actually having some success get kinda hard on the ticker.

I'm not getting overly excited yet, still a lot of hockey to be played and the standings are still close. I hope they don't do something stupid at the deadline.

Agreed, but we have to wait until the deadline though. If we make it through this month still in a position...I think we're gonna make it, but that's gonna be a tall task IMO.

At the deadline, I want a young winger under contract. Not a UFA. If it's to be a UFA, I'd rather just roll with what we have.

PS - what does Bobby Butler and Brian Lee and a 3rd rounder buy us? Ahhhhh! Not much? Okay then.

BM has said that if he makes a move, it'll be for a forward, as he is happy with our current defencemen. This means that we likely won't ship out ANY defence (assuming we're in contention), as it's important to have depth at D (and what do we have right now, 7?).

Also, I don't really see Bobby B being shipped out for a depth forward, as Bobby IS a depth forward, and he's been playing better lately. If we do go out and get a forward at the deadline, I don't think we'll be trading ANYONE from the current roster. Maybe a mediocre prospect and a mid-round pick.

Actually I've been pretty hard on Bobby B lately, but he's been a lot better recently.
