Big difference between Columbus' AHL team and ours, we have the reigning AHL MVP feeding him.

Filatov is saying (on Formspring) that he got the hattrick and they are going to change the stats. I checked the game summary and it's still showing 2g 1A.

That second goal showed some skill, but I doubt you'll see an NHL D-man pull that sliding stunt on a 2-on-2... and if you do, he won't be an NHL D-man for long.

Hmm, Souray is still in the NHL, many years after Spezzky undressed him on national TV.

Gratchev got sent down to Elmira. Filatov was looking forward to playing with him.

I don't think he has a chance to do that either, but at least he knows he has the skill to pull it off. Same with his shot, an NHL goalie might not let that in either, but it's all about confidence.

It's not about not being an NHL player sometimes when you are sent down, it's about not having the confidence to be one.

Laugh1
The guy that screwed that play up is the guy that stopped skating on the backcheck. Souray got caught flat footed, but he hardly went sliding out of position with even numbers...

Agreed. It's good that he's producing, even if it comes at the expense of inferior competition.

7 guys *did* skate. You think it's a good way to impress your coach on your second day? Joy's tweet said the practice was semi-optional. Frankly, there is no such thing as optional unless you are one of the vets.

Oh and, for the record, the "idiot" who posted that particular "question" was me.

Well I'm sorry but your question/comment was way out of line.

How was it way out of line? Are you saying coaches/GMs don't keep track of which rookies/young players skip optional practices? That's just the plain truth and I was giving the kid good advice, not telling him he was dogging it. I give him the benefit of doubt once -- perhaps he really didn't know. His reply was out of line, if anything.

Haha are you the one actually posting that crap on his page? Hahaha.

Get a life man, you think he actually cares what you say? You think you actually have any right to suggest to him what he should and shouldn't be doing? Wow, I'm still in amazment, hahaha.

It's the AHL... the guys that need to show up to those practices are the ones trying to avoid being sent to the ECHL, not the ones who just scored a hat trick.

I think Filatov responded well, he basically called him a dumba$$ without actually saying it. I just find it amazing that he actually believes he has the right to say that and thinks he actually cares.

Oh well I guess, just no respect for someone like that. None.

He's probably taken aback some anon person on formspring is basically telling him how to do his job, even if its well intentioned.

He looked good in his first game, hopefully he'll be back soon.

Not to mention the fact he's not in the dressing room, he's not the coach, and he doesn't know the first thing about professional hockey and perhaps not hockey in general.

The person who keeps telling him that he's a hell of a hockey player needs to stop.

People just need to stop. I get it's nice talk to a professional hockey player but get a life, haha. He's trying to connect with the fans, not ask for their opinions or make friends.

It's creepy.
