I'm assuming he'll play tomorrow as well...it's good to get quick games in bingo. He may be up sooner than we think.

Who's he gonna replace ? I don't think he'll be up anytime soon (barring injuries).

He'd have to outplay Michalek or Greening. Yes he can play RW but he looks awful, he looked better when they had him on LW during preseason.

No, that said Dan Sexton (G) in that tweet - the G stands for "goal", not goalie (he scored a goal).

Great that Filatov got a pair. He's there to build confidence. Let's hope he can tear it up for a few games then finally put it all together and translate his game to the NHL.

So who was in goal then?

To the Google-mobile!

On a re-building team you don't have to have two scoring lines, a checking line and an energy line. Greening is actually listed as a center -- who says he's not going to move there ot to the right wing with injuries? We've got 5 forwards with 1 point (including Filatov) and another 3 with zero points. Why would you say it will be a long time before Filatov gets recalled?

Really great first signs from Filatov in the AHL. It would have been really easy & predictable for him to have sulked, and then just skate off to a Russian sunset. Let's hope he lights the AHL up, builds up his own & management's confidence, and works his way back up to the NHL sooner rather than later.

This stint in the AHL is going to do wonders for his confidence. It also allows him to get to know the organization from top to bottom.

I'd be curious to see how he did when Columbus sent him down...

Not well by all accounts. Think he had a ton of trouble scoring.

He seems to be saying he had a hat trick. I hope he doesn't care about that too much - looks selfish.

Looking at the numbers he was just "OK" but then I wonder how the team was? What kind of linemates did he have?

Someone should remind him that the last time he had a hat trick, it didn't exactly lead to overwhelming success.

His second goal is awesome. I want to see this kind of play in Ottawa.

Not sure if he got a hattrick or not. Impossible to tell from the replay.

Big difference between Columbus' AHL team and ours, we have the reigning AHL MVP feeding him.

Filatov is saying (on Formspring) that he got the hattrick and they are going to change the stats. I checked the game summary and it's still showing 2g 1A.

That second goal showed some skill, but I doubt you'll see an NHL D-man pull that sliding stunt on a 2-on-2... and if you do, he won't be an NHL D-man for long.
