Yeah no kidding, I think we're going to see a lot of movement after tonight. UFA deadline is like 2 weeks away as well .....

The senators front office is working double time right now no doubt .,...

Either that or they're intentionally keeping us in suspense. Ahhhhh! Wink

I think I'm going to try to leave this one be. Problem is, there's nothing else to talk about, and this is pretty huge as far as hockey stories go.

So I'll pipe up.

For those that are season ticket holders they are holding a special season ticket holder only Prospects camp with a chance to skate with one of 4 players. I believe I grabbed one of the last slots to skate with karlsson, but there are others O'Brien, Bass Regin, Smith. THere is a scrimmage and some interactive games for the little ones.

I'm not sure I'll be able to go, it's July 4th so if I can't, I'll send the tickets into SpezzDispenser or one of the boys and they can figure out some way to get them to the person(s) who want to go.

I wish this sort of thing was available to the public, but I'm guessing because ticket sales are down this year (I wonder why) they are pulling out all the stops to try to get people to renew now.

So with that said, rather than talk about what if's with Heatley, (I've heard just about everything under the sun), why don't we talk about the great talent that Ottawa has in their system that they are not getting credit for.

Wow! Lucky you.

I think there's starting to be more awareness about the calibre of some of Ottawa's prospects. For example, we moved from something like 26th or 27th on HF's organizational prospect rankings to 18th.

They're still IMO selling some prospects like Patrick Wiercioch short (har har), but I really think he's going to shoot up (har har) into the non-Senators-fans-only sphere of knowledge soon (probably at the next WJC) much the way Karlsson did.

I will be going to the prospect camp. I am a Sens season ticket holder and after speaking with all of the other season ticket holders that I know, I am the only one renewing. That is pretty scary. I am hoping to upgrade mine in the next couple of weeks.

Not quite...I was among the first 100 or so. There is some special meet and greet with the team that the first 100 to renew got. To be honest it had nothing to do with the bonus, I like hockey and if I'm here while Dawg is in Chicago I'm coming to games.

I agree though...just about everyone else I know has taken a wait and see attitude with regards to renewing. It also helps that they don't have to decide until August or September to retain their seats. Tells you how much pressure Murray is under to do something this offseason to help boost ticket sales.

I am not sure if I am in that 100 group or not. For all the season ticket holders that don't renew by tomorrow, their tickets will be released. At least that is what my account manager is telling me. Shrug

turns out its Wiercioch + 3rd for Raymond. I didn't open the thread and must have just seen Wiercioch's name and stopped paying attention. Shrug

if any GM made that call for Wiercioch, I am hoping Murray would tell them where to stuff that phone.

You'd know if you were in the first 100. An e-mail went out thanking you for being one of the first and details about the special bonus would follow. As for ticket renewals, Cyril was on the radio and clearly stated that new renewal options gave ticket holders until August or Sept to decide, that's why so much pressure was on the team to do something this summer to help stimulate ticket sales.

Agreed, Wiercioch is the only real exciting thing to come out of the Havlat deal.

I think the chances are pretty good that Patrick makes the junior squad this time out. Wouldn't it be something if he won the tournament's Best Defenseman? It could happen.

from what I have heard about him, he loves to compete, so could definitely see him having a great tournament, winning best defensemen or not.
