Say what you want about The Russians, but The Czechs and Slovaks are two good team with solid goaltending, defense, and offense. It's not like they were playing The Swiss.

It's Nabokov's job, and we all know how Nabokov fares when the chips are down!

And vice versa, the Russians don't want Canada in the 1/4 finals. The chanting was dump though.

Talk about being cocky. I woudl say that Russia doesnt want Canada either, you're right. That being said, Russia knows exactly what they are in for and have an extra day to prepare and rest.

After a game like this, there is nothing to dwell on. We are ready for the Russians. Staal-Crosby-Iggy are rolling, and our grinding/energy line with Toews, Morrow, and Richards was dominant all night long. If Getzlaf starts playing like the elite player he is, watch out. We will stomp on the Russians like they were tiny ants on the side of the road!!!!!!!

One thing I don't like is the play of Marleau and Thornton. That is the only negative I have about this game.

this is just my opinion but i think the some of the D on Canada is going to need to step it up if we want to win, not necessarily limit the amount of shots just the quality

Canada and their D are going to have to be way better in their own zone then they were tonight. The Germans had way more sustained pressure against Canada then it did agaisnt Sweden or Finland. The Russian's are going to cycle the puck a lot more effectivly.

The D defently have to be better besides Keith, Weber, and Doughty... even then it will be interesting to see if Doughty can handle top mins vs The Russians.

He basically does it in the NHL, so this shouldn't be a stretch for him here. Olympic Game Day: Canada vs. Germany 7:00PM EST. TUE. Feb 23, 2010 - Page 6 85287

No but lines like BAckstrom/Semin/Ovechkin, is a fair comparison.

How often does he play them? Maybe Heatley/Thornton/Marleau but they dont do much other then when they are on the PP.

Doughty has never seen an offense like what Russia will throw at him.

Lets also hope Volchenkov forgets how to shutdown Crosby without Phillips by his side.
