What are you even talking about?
GM Hockey

Not sure what that means. Are you referring to my comments?

lol
Lehner would be starting if they didn't have a huge break. Nothing to see here.
also Murray won't be around for much longer to make that choice so there really is nothing to see.
You don't know that. Some people can survive for years with Stage IV (some, not a lot ) and by all measures, his treatment appears to be going well.
Edit : 5 year survival rate for Stage iv Colon cancer is 11%

Sorry that isn't what I meant. Apologies. I meant I think this will be his lat year as GM regardless. I think he steps down.

Ok. I might have reacted a bit quickly there as well ... apologies. I think that everyone wishes the best for his health. As I said before, now that I'm in the US, I had to buy the NHL Package and I seem to get the US feed most of the time. The Rangers commentary guys last night spent about 5 minutes talking about Bryan Murray and his health and they were very sympathetic to him; Only had nice things to say; I have heard some of that on just about every US feed of Sens games I've watched this year.
It's hard to do/say (but Neely has said it) but when looking at recent performance, you have to kind of disregard the health issue otherwise, you're stuck. To be honest, some of the questionable decisions (e.g.: trading Bishop for Conacher) predate the disease so if one wants to do a proper "appraisal", one must remain "neutral";
At the end of the day, the only way he's out is if steps down (maybe take a Sr. VP role). I can't see ownership firing him.
You also have to think that if he does manage to "dodge the bullet", his family will probably want him to change his focus ... who knows ...

He is the President of Hockey Ops and Alternate Governor as well, so it would be easy to step down I'd think.

Does Culek have a contract that counts against our 50? I don't think so. Maybe they need to clear something for Greening?

Bishop was traded in a soft market and Conacher seemed like a decent forward at the time. 20/20 hindsight and we basically got Turris and Ryan for nothing.
