Would you also agree that it's not for everyone?  I never watched it and don't intend to. Same with Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy and probably a few more of the best shows.  Can you spot a theme?

You don't like something that isn't rated PG?

Nope. GoT is one of my favorite current shows. Re-watching BSG now with my nearly-14-year-old daughter (yes, some awkward scenes). Outlander is another one of our (wife and I) regulars. Loved Jessica Jones.

It's not the language. Certainly not since I've been raving about Letterkenny on here.

Organized crime!

Now, Sons of Anarchy was pretty bad after the first couple of seasons (like Dexter...it fell off a cliff). Breaking Bad and The Wire though...those are about waaaaaaaay more than organized crime...I dunno what to tell you.

Hmm, not exactly. Breaking Bad is not really organized crime, is it? It's more that I don't want to watch a show where the main protagonists are criminals. I guess I want to root for the good guys. On those shows you don't really root for anyone.

If you think that you won't root for Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad...

Right you are; I never watched Seinfeld in its original run, but in reruns. It is very possible that I did not see any "Dentist to the Stars" episodes until after I watched Malcolm in the Middle. Or maybe I just did not remember him from those. He wasn't one of the more memorable characters (IMO).

He's no "Bookman" but he's pretty memorable.

Converting to Judaism "for the jokes" was pretty strong.

Hey, what's your favorite episode? Mine's The Hamptons.

- Come and see the baby.
- Breathtaking!
- Shrinkage
- Like a frightened turtle.
- Boutros-Boutros Galli/Yo-Yo Ma (Jerry/Kramer on seeing George's g/f topless)

I doubt he will be wasted in this one:

Is this happening? They'd better not ruin that movie. I've read the first installment in the Dark Tower series 3 or 4 times.

It's totally happening. Coming out next year.
It's Idris Elba and Matt McConaughey so it should be good at least in acting.
It's not gonna be a direct adaptation of the books right away though apparentl. Looks like the first movie is meant to introduce Roland, and not an adaptation of The Gunslinger

I'm not the biggest fan of the setting either.
But I can definitely see why it's a classic. The writing is excellent.

Saw a trailer for the new Doctor Strange movie (they showed it before Star Trek). I'm a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock. Haven't seen him in anything else (other than the previous Trek movie, of course, and him voicing Smaug -- the dragon in the Hobbit films). Never read the comics (unless there was a cross-over in a Spiderman or some-such).

The writer/director (Scott Derrickson) has done Sinister (1&2), The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Deliver us from Evil, Devil's Knot -- sounds like he has a lot of horror movie experience.

Music is by Michael Giacchino (Lost).

What a weird mix.

I like the setting, it adds a quirky dimension to the show, IMO. Besides, I prefer settings other than Los Angeles or New York or other BIG US cities. It's a welcome change.

Yep, heard that.  It's just that I watch so few movies.  Star Wars, Trek -- the occasional Avengers or some spinoff.  Mostly because our watching has been reduced to an hour or so at the end of the day.  Stupid kids and their growing up.  Things were fine when they went to bed at 8:30.
