It's on one of the streaming services. Doesn't Crave have it? Free for a month, I think.
2 episodes a day? When I was a student maybe...
$99 divided by 7.99 gives you (truncated down) 12 months. Add 1 free and then you have a total of 13 months you can have for less than $99. And you can definitely binge at a rate faster than 1-a-day since there are weekends, gym time (I used to watch Sens8 on my tablet while on the elliptical at the gym all the time), bathroom time, lunch breaks, weekends, etc.
But you can't re-sell stream
Anyhow, I like physical copies of stuff ( I have a bunch of vinyles and CDs as well as video games) but only stuff I reaaally like. For instance I have the Lost Blu-ray Collector Box set, also Battlestar Galactica, Band of Brothers etc. But it's just because I love them
I don't mind paying $99 but I have to be sure I really like it so I guess my question is, is The Wire really that good?
Buy GICs with the money you save. Re-selling DVDs is a losing proposition because nobody wants to pay more than $5 for a set (or some equally ridiculous amount) and you'd never want to sell it that low so you end up keeping it. I used to love buying the shiny discs and in most cases would watch many times over, but I've stopped. We had the full set of Lost and BSG on disc and when the kids started watching them they watched on Netflix. PQ was just as good (with unlimited internet you can turn up the PQ to max and it's just as good as BD) and the convenience was phenomenal. I missed the bonus features, for sure, but the kids didn't care. I sometimes wonder if those bonus discs are almost never in the streaming libraries because that still allows them to sell hard copies to diehard fans.
