Or Cowen.

Can we all agree that Chris Phillips should not be playing the point on PP#1, PP#2 or PP#3 (for the 5 minute majors)?

#MyPPDoesNotIncludeChrisPhillips

I disagree.

Me too. Philly has a hell of a shot and he gets it through to the net often. He creates chances. After EK and Gonch, we're light on PMDs. Phillips may not be ideal, but he has a very underrated shot.

You can disagree all you want, fact of the matter remains, BigRig is not a PP specialist. Play one-D and a forward on the back-end. EK on PP#1 and Gonchar on PP#2.

Or, if you insist, Cowen also has a hard and accurate shot, and he's faster than Phillips.

When's the last time the Sens had a forward on the point on a PP? Has Walrus ever done that?

The Alfie had a couple stints on the backend of the PP units this year...nothing prolonged though. You could always go with Gonch/EK and then Philly/The Alfie...or Cowen/The Alfie.

Alfie played a few shifts on defense, nevermind the PP, in game 3 against the Habs.

Ya, but that was a very specific situation. It happens very rarely that there is such a need. He wasn't there because they were trying to create offense from the back-end; he was there because the bench was empty.

Precisely.

Spezza has been ruled out for Game 2... so far... we'll see in the next day if that holds. Gryba has not been ruled out yet, but if he can't go expect Benoit or Lundin to go in his place.

I'd be up for a Latendresse in and Kassian out switch to see if it sparks anything.

Stay out of the box, get in Vokoun's face, pucks to the net, hit the Pens hard and giv'r. GET THE SPLIT!

GO SENS GO!!!

Looks like the Latendresse / Kassassin swap is imminent:

I'd rather not have Phillips on the PP personally, but when you don't have many options, you use what you have.

$175 for name/numbered jerseys, $135 for blanks, $100 for practice jerseys (the blanks and practice jerseys can be customized of course).

Can't vouch for them, but cheapnhljerseys.com is probably what it sounds like -- but $35 for a named/numbered jersey (guessing it would be press-on or printed) is, well, cheap.

Alfie Reebok "SENS" on eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Reebok-NHL-Ottawa-Senators-Daniel-Alfredsson-Youth-Premier-Jersey-NWT-L-XL-/360655649617?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item53f8c07b51
$40 plus $10 shipping

There are some fairly decent deals to be had on eBay. I usually go for "Buy Now" prices (like the one above) but you could also try for some auctions and get lucky.

Meh. The Sens were a bit flat. They had lots of chances but no finish. I don't have much of a problem with that assessment. Shrug

EDIT: In fact, I hope the Sens think they were dominated as well. They need to come out hungry instead of riding out the initial fury and then trying to capitalize. This team needs to come charging out of the gate tomorrow night.

The Sens have had lots of chances but no finish a lot this season.. Hopefully with a (crosses fingers) healthy lineup next season.. that will be fixed..

Greening is bigger.. has more body bulk to screen the goaltender... he's hard to move off the puck by bigger D.

Or Cowen.

He needs to focus on how he spends his time in front of his own net first. :crossarms:

Good article in the Ottawa Citizen about the 3 injured players that are in the lineup in Karlsson, Cowen & Michalek..

$175 for sewn name and numbers, or heat press?
