Didn't love the "Krusty Sucks" chants later. I was *hoping* to hear some punching sounds immediately following; sadly I didn't.

So Chara didn't pick Hossa. So much for that story that Hossa didn't re-sign partly because of how his good friend Hossa was signed-and-traded.

Alyonka Larionov should have been picked last.

To be honest, while I thought it was funny at first, the crowd was pretty classless. At the same time, it might inject some character into what is generally a pretty flat game.

Karlsson, Letand, Weber, Edler, Yandle, Girardi is a filthy D-corps for a skills exhibition like the all-star game!

That being said, a top-6 of Kane-Datsyuk-Hossa, Gaborik-Malkin-Perry is disgusting! I hope they don't try to cater to Leafs by disrupting that top-6 with Kessel/Lupul...

I thought Hossa was on Team Alfie? I missed the fist half but I thought I saw a graphic which showed him on the team.

I have to agree that for anyone watching that hasn't really understood the rivalry they would probably have found this pretty childish. But for the rest of us seeing Lupul look quite uncomfortable thru it all was very funny.

Best line of the night was Duthie's comment on that huge key being Chara's. That was hilarious.

I also think they did a better job of not making that "last guy moment" so awkward. Last year, when they left Phil all alone in that chair... that was brutal, as much as I loved it, it was still pretty brutal.

Having the last four come out on stage at the end last night was better.

Nah, I think it was good and I loved watching Lupul squirm. They were good. Reminded people about the rivalry and how crazy it was at one point. We're getting back there slowly. Funny how there were no Leafs on Alfie's team and no Canuck's on Chara's team... the lines certainly are drawn. Adds a little something to play for in the game possibly? Maybe the game will actually be interesting.

That's what I thought, too, even if it was the obvious way to go.

P.S. Chara calls out Gaborik's name (accent on the 'bo' syllable) and then immediately after the announcer insists on using the North American (a.k.a. "wrong") pronunciation with the accent on the "Ga". Would have loved it if Big Z had followed up saying, "No, I meant Gaborik" and then glared menacingly at the camera.
