We'll see but he's a step behind everyone and is just getting out muscled. He used ot dominate down low in the corners, that was his bread a butter in the offensive zone... not anymore.

Alfi is turning into a 3rd, 4th line guy right in front of our eyes, sad to see but it's the way it goes.

Really is. Hopefully next year Silfverberg can come in and perhaps pick up some of the slack that Alfi (in his prime) has left. Right now though, I don't think he comes back for another season.

I'm sure Butler would love a top-6 RW spot as well.

If Kuba's out for any length of time, that's gonna hurt.

There was a time when that was pretty much a for sure thing. This is a different team now, they might be able to take the loss.

I can. Look at all the 67's "stars" that become career ECHLers, AHLers or worse.

I guess we'll see if he's true to his word and retires then because he has said that if he's not an offensive top end player he won't stick around just to be a 3rd/4th liner.

What about that guy that made his TV debut on Making the Cut or whatever that lame Hockey reality show was? A good Ottawa boy too. Wink

I think Kuba will be alright. Also, I think we could absorb that loss, as SSF said.

Also, there was a time when Kuba being out of the lineup would be a good thing. Oh how times have changed, and for the better!

Yeah, it sure looks like the time has come. I was telling my wife last night that Alfie had not been a factor this year. Maybe he's just saving his energy for the playoffs Wink

They'd have to move someone over to the left (possibly Gonchar). That might not be so good.

I imagine Filatov will be back wearing a cage ? If he's out for any amount of time it's going to be ever harder for him to get in the lineup.

It's easy to say that his offensive production hasn't been too much of a factor this year, so far, but let's not underestimate the impact he has likely had on the current crop of youngsters on the team. The Alfie wears the "C" for a reason, and I imagine his work ethic is infectious.

Yeah, I feel really bad for Filatov.

Anyways, the Sens are going to be hell to play against in 3, 4 years.

On a much different note, Alfi looks like he is almost done. Just can't keep up with the pace and isn't as strong as he used to be. Sad to see.

On the other hand, winning games without Alfie really contributing is a major step forward.

As for the drafting, I think Pierre Dorion and Tim Murray deserve the biggest credit. THey forced Murray to take Karlsson which is probably our best pick since Daniel Alfredsson, franchise changing pick.

Anyone play exceedingly well (other than Smith and his line, which are gold)?

Karlsson was all over the ice but what's new? He fell in the offensive zone and seemed hurt for a few minutes, had a hard time skating back to the bench, which resulted in a 3 on 1 for the Jets and they score.
For a moment there, I was thinking: THere goes the season

Let's not forget Foligno here. Amazing to think what a coaching change and a youth injection could do to a team. Spezza and Michalek both look great. Cowen, Condra, Smith, and Daugavins looks like vets out there, and Foligno has really picked up his game.

It will be interesting to see how the Sens line up when Neil, Carkner, and Regin draw back into the picture.

Funny because the results were there last year before the coaching change. People have really short memories.

Exactly! Remember how we were all talking about how the kids looked great and Spezza looked great and everything looked up by the end of last year? This is a continuation of the end of last year...not a new development.

Agreed, but he just looks so awkward skating on the ice. He looks like a wrestler who there on some hockey equipment.
