I saw the replay during the game, from a different angle (i.e., lower, and more from centre). Puck definitely hit the post square on. I thought it was in for sure, too, and that's why I watched the replay so closely, and looked it over a few times on the PVR. Total non-issue.

*I* can't believe they didn't review that Butler goal. Would have made it 2-0 at the time and a different game.

Wanna come over to my house I'll show it to you on the PVR. Went frame by freaking frame. You *never* see the puck enter the net because it was so freaking fast. Talk about bullet time. There is no way a puck shot that hard bounces off the post and then flutters in an arc following the outline of the back of the net. It went off the post and in, rimmed around the back of the net and out again before anyone knew what happened.

Potvin caught it though. When Brown yells "Butler hits the post!" you hear Denis go "Wait a minute ... was that the post?" I was convinced it was in the time I saw it live, it was confirmed by Dash's video, and I just reviewed it on my PVR. *IN* You really have to believe in unicorns if you think that puck went post-to-post in an arc the way it was shot.

Don't look at the replay. Look at the original camera angle, they switch from the reverse angle shot just after Greening passes it off to Butler to the main camera at center ice, and you clearly see the puck rim around the back of the net.

Love it-- MacStache puts out K-Daug-Smith-Condra out for the powerplay and they score the winner. Smith says that was his 3rd PP shift in the NHL. #playerscoach

Ugly win, but it's a big win anyways! The reffing was terrible.

It's funny that we're winning games with our offense, despite mediocre goaltending.

The Sens will need to win ones like this to stay in the playoff race.

1 - Win the odd ugly one / Steal a few games
2 - Win most of the ones they're supposed to win
3 - Win most of the ones they deserve to win

With a healthy lineup and the way they've been playing to this point those 3 things seem reasonable.

OK, I take back what I said about the Butler goal. I'm not saying I'm convinced it was not a goal, I'm just not as convinced as I was before that it was a goal.

Perhaps what looks like the puck rimming around the back of the goal was really the puck traveling at a slight diagonal slope left-to-right with a bit of a wobble that made it appear to describe the curve at the back. I don't know but they really should have shown us an overhead shot. Does Winnipeg even have one of those?

So Zack Smith is a pretty good player. It's pretty amazing looking at the kids Murray has drafted and what they are doing now. Even some Mucklet draft picks in Greening, Condra, Regin, and Daugavins have turned out.

Anyways, the Sens are going to be hell to play against in 3, 4 years.

On a much different note, Alfi looks like he is almost done. Just can't keep up with the pace and isn't as strong as he used to be. Sad to see.

He hasn't been the same since the Wolski hit, I thought he was keeping up fairly well until then.

Definitely sad to see.

Missed the damn game for what feels like the first time in years.

Anyone play exceedingly well (other than Smith and his line, which are gold)?

Settle down. It hit the post bang on. For sure. That's why no one, including Butler, even made a motion to raise their hands.

LOL, it hit the post dead on, haha. That puck never went in.

Really is. Hopefully next year Silfverberg can come in and perhaps pick up some of the slack that Alfi (in his prime) has left. Right now though, I don't think he comes back for another season.

He was good before that hit, maybe his conditioning suffered badly during the stretch where he couldn't do anything. I wouldn't write him off yet.

We'll see but he's a step behind everyone and is just getting out muscled. He used ot dominate down low in the corners, that was his bread a butter in the offensive zone... not anymore.

Alfi is turning into a 3rd, 4th line guy right in front of our eyes, sad to see but it's the way it goes.

I'm sure Butler would love a top-6 RW spot as well.

If Kuba's out for any length of time, that's gonna hurt.
