Rock bottom is when we're in 10th or 11th place and it's too late to make up ground to get back into the playoffs.

Honestly, I don't want him re-signed unless it is for 3M or less. Trade him before the Olympics (because the way things are going, he'll get injured in Vancouver and leave in the summer).dennycrane wrote:I'll be stunned if Volchenkov is resigned.
If you can get anything for Kovalev, take it and let the new GM spend it in the offseason.

No chance for a top 5 pick unfortunately. Once the injured players get back, that should be enough to push to the 10th overall pick. woo hoo.Fish12 wrote:Taylor Hall please...
Wise words... it's just so tough to watch this... the mistakes just seem so bad...Jordo wrote:While I can in no way defend this brutal display of hockey.. can I remind everyone of who we're missing. I hate making excuses, but let's be honest... We're missing our entire top line, our top defenseman, and Winchester and now Cheechoo..
I'm not sure we can expect much more. Kovalev is useless, I'll agree... and now Fisher is getting a Dung more attention than he's used to.
This is bad luck people, not bad management....
Take any other team in the league, subtract their top 4 players, and see how they compete.
I have been a big defender of Murray but this team is being hurt by his biggest flaw, loyalty.Jordo wrote:While I can in no way defend this brutal display of hockey.. can I remind everyone of who we're missing. I miss having our top line...sens4win wrote:anyone else miss having a top goal scorer....
I miss Hossa, not HeatDouchePrick. We sucked with him, we'll suck without him.sens4win wrote:anyone else miss having a top goal scorer....

We are not even close to that. Not with the horrid defense and horrid goaltending.
We need a new GM who has the freedom to do what it takes to rebuild instead of being put in a corner where he has to go out and sign Kovalev and pretend everything is okay. I was patient through all of this but a good defense and good goalie would at least be able to give us a chance every night. Even with all of these guys out. We need a new GM and that's really the first time I've said it.
