We are not even close to that. Not with the horrid defense and horrid goaltending.

We need a new GM who has the freedom to do what it takes to rebuild instead of being put in a corner where he has to go out and sign Kovalev and pretend everything is okay. I was patient through all of this but a good defense and good goalie would at least be able to give us a chance every night. Even with all of these guys out. We need a new GM and that's really the first time I've said it.

No offense, but this is Dung.
The new NHL rewards teams that suffer for consecutive years, which you can see clearly in the Chicago's, and Washington's of the league. I'd like to see what anybody else could have done in Murray's shoes. Heatley? Kovalev (who was urged by the OWNER, his BOSS)?

There's not a lot you can do in those situations. I think Murray's done a great job, and if all of these injuries never occurred and we remained at .500 since, we'd be in 3rd/4th place, and nobody would be saying Dung.

Start thinking rationally people.

And no, I'm not related to Bryan Murray

So... a 4-goal period by Kovalev to tie it up? Yes?

So... 0-5 on this road trip?

Murray really needs to look at throwing this season away and trading Volchie, Ruttu, Foligno, Picard/Campoli, Kuba (if he would waive) and get ready for next year.

I've defended Murray because of the mess he was left with and the situations he's been put in but there are a lot of things he's not done that have pissed me off.

Dan Boyle should have been a Senator, if not him Jay Bouwmeester, if not him Brian Campbell and on and on it goes.

It's not enough to make a play for someone we really need and then say ah well it was just a little too much money.

Are we supposed to sit back and wait until Cowen, Karlsson and Weircioch are Veterans before we're contenders again?

We could be in a 3 way tie for 8th after tonight, and I think we'll be alone in 12th by the Montreal game.

I will now go weep openly.

Murray has had plenty of opportunites to improve the defense but balked at the price every time. He got his priorities wrong and it's costing us.

Also, Murray isn't here to rebuild either. He was brought in to win us a cup. If we are going to rebuild it's going to have to be a new GM.

Especially when you handcuff yourself financially by overpaying to keep your average (at best) players.

Boyle could have been payed for by replacing Kelly, Neil and Kuba with kids. Would that make us better or worse ?
