So I guess Heatley definitely isn't becoming an LA King.

If he hadn't gone public with his trade request/Clouston-bashing, he probably would be right now. :^^^^:

Kinda, but this is THE chance for the Sharks to make an impact. They had better get 'er done.

AVALANCHE TRADE RYAN SMYTH TO KINGS
TSN Staff, July 3, 2009, 11:04PM ET

The Colorado Avalanche have traded Ryan Smyth to the Los Angeles Kings.

Smyth spent the most of the first 12 seasons of his career with the Oilers, but after failing to reach a contract agreement, was dealt to the New York Islanders at the trade deadline in 2007.

In that off-season he signed a five-year, $31.2 million deal with the Avalanche.
Smyth, also know as Captain Canada for his long resume playing internationally for Canada, was invited to Canada's Olympic orientation camp set for the end of August.

I don't think this deal changes that much as far as the Sharks are concerned, IMO.

In fact, they're probably just less worried about the Kings acquiring Heatley.

I don't know how accurate this is, but I'm hearing Ryan Smyth and Liles for Jack Johnson and Oscar Moller.

Apparently it's Moeller and JJ for Smyth and Liles, but no confirmation yet.

Horrible trade for LA.
