Heater SD's got 172 posts today. :^^^^:

Facepalm :^^^^:

When was the last time something this massive happened to the Sens? :^^^^: I spent too long on here today - and I'll pay for it tomorrow I'm sure - but it's landmark, franchise changing Dung.

lol no kidding. I woke up at 9:30 today when I didn't have to be up until noon at the earliest Vertigo

For $2 million, I don't see why we wouldn't take a shot. It's not like we are overflowing with secondary guys who can score.

Why? At potentially $2-million per season on a two year contract, we could be getting a 30-30 guy. You need low-money, high-skill guys on your team to compete.

Wow, that is ridiculously tough to turn down. That first rounder is a Kadri/Kassian/Schroeder too.

In your heart of hearts, do you really believe Comrie will settle for 2 million? A 50% decrease in pay?

After this trade we might be. I also think that spot is better served to a guy like Regin, maybe Smith, at this point it might be good to keep Neil with a whole bunch of new, you kids coming into Ottawa. You want the character guys who have been around in Ottawa for while with these guys.

Alfi, Phillips, Fisher, Neil, and A Train. You really do need those guys around. I wouldnt even be oppsed to trading Ruutu at this point as much as I like him, but he is a character guy as well.

Yeah, I said 'Deal' to that one. That would be it for me.

Comrie will NEVER be a 30-30 guy. Too slow, too injured.

After toiling on the Island? Yes. If the term is what he wants. He doesn't need the money. His girlfriend runs a billion dollar clothing line and his father is the founder of the Brick. Money is the least of his concerns.

Yes, I do. There is a new day looming over the NHL. If Comrie wants to play, I'm afraid given his performance last season, he's going to have to accept less money to play. With the cap decreasing, GMs are going to be more wary than ever about giving out more money to a player than they absolutely need to. That's what I genuinely think...the time for gross contract payouts has passed. GMs are starting to wake up and smell the roses.

How many other guys that are right now on the Sens (excluding Heatley) even had 20 last year? If he can provide that for $2 million, I am sold.

Ruutu adds so much, though. The mere fact that he annoys teams the way he does and PKs the way he does makes him well worth the 1.3

I think by years end everyone is going to be questioning why the hell we brought this guy back. Bad shoulders, a hip that a lot of players dont recover from, and we have bunch of kids knocking at the door.

With the departure of Heatley its time for a new fresh start all over. 2007 is over, lets move on. Comrie isnt what he used to be, not even close.

I love Ruutu, but like I said, it might be time for a fresh start all around. Ruutu is def a guy that will make this team better though. He could be a deal breaker as well.

I agree, we don't need Comrie.

I cant stand Comrie as a player. He does everything "ok" offensivly. Nothing special, doesnt bring anything really to the table, and is beyond injured. Defensivly he is useless.

Move on, save yourself the time, money, and frustration.

Leave that COmrie spot open for someone to get an opportunity. I can almost garentee that there will be a plug somewhere along the line we can put in.

Dont forget about Keller either, he may very well surprise.
