Send him to Bingo for 4 years. What a big frickin' baby.

I understand the anger but I'm looking past Heatley and onto what's best for the Sens. Sending him to rot in Bingo is THE worst thing that could happen outside of a buy-out.

Is this in answer to if a high pick and prospect is too much to ask for?

I know you *want to* punish him, but let's think of what's best for the team.

Some smart lawyer-type GM will eventually raise the possibility of breach-of-contract. I've heard this discussed many times by various panels. A player can sit out if he wants to re-negotiate. It's happened on many occasions. You signed a contract, feel that it's now too little for what you bring to the table, so you sit out.

Well, why should it not go the other way as well? You signed a contract with certain expectations. The player is not delivering on those expectations. So you don't pay him. It's not going to happen that way, of course, but the team can certainly suspend a player without pay for failing to live up to certain stipulations -- mostly having to do with personal conduct. It's only a small step to suspecnd a player for a significant amount of time. Why bury him in the minors and still have to pay the salary? Suspend him for breach of contract and save the cash. It's going to happen, sooner or later.

Now, I wonder if salary saved from suspensions is taken off the cap or not?

The thing with Heatley (I see now) is you may win with him but you certainly won't win because of him. When he is getting the money he is getting you should win because of him. If you don't take a challenge from a coach to work harder and expand your role and instead demand a trade, you are not my kind of player. Now I think he may have been a catalyst for the indifferent play. He is dead to me.

I'm looking at what's best for The Sens too, like always, and if Heatley Veto's any trade that Murray wants to make, let him play or sit in Ottawa. We'll see how long he really wants to stay out of another city.

I really hope the list Heatley gave to Murray is no longer than 10 teams.

From what i've read by going to websites no one should ever have to go to, Dany Heatley's girlfriend is named Sarah, and is by all accounts, his first love. I have also seen that she is also from Calgary, and has been ready to settle down, but he wasn't.

Now excuse me, I need to go crack open a beer and watch some porn, and remind myself what it is to be a man again.

Well, like I said a looooong time ago, Heatley played like he didnt want to be here. The way he was with fans and media same deal. He was coached to say a lot of the things he did by thee team and his agent, garenteed.

Heatley is the ultimate primmadonna and hopefully we can give his generous contract to a guy like J Bo coming in, and replace some scoring with Camilerri and who ever we get in a trade.

With the right moves this team could be better next year and set us up perfectly for the future.

So this is where the Phaneuf rumours caught fire then? Would Calgary make that kind of deal? I personally doubt it but it's intriguing.

I'm worried other GMs will think this is a guy that bolts when the pressure's on and things don't go his way.. he bolted from Atlanta, now he's bolting from Ottawa...

If he wants to stay close to his girlfriend, that would suggest an Eastern team wold be his preference... Montreal, Toronto... holy crap that would suck for us.

It does seem that he didn't like the way Clouston was taking the team, which boggles my mind as we started to produce under Clouston. There was a great quote by Clouston about Heatley not being able to handle a "pressure system". Interesting...
She lives in Calgary. I think he will go to Vancouver and we'll get Hodgons and a pick back. Then we will go out and sign Bouwmeester and trade Lee for a forward.

How's that sound?

In all honesty, I still don't think Heatley is a complete bunghole. He may be selfish, but I don't think he will be too difficult about the trade. I'm sure there are a few teams he woudn't go to, but I doubt he gives Murray a narrow list. After all, Murray doesn't need to trade him. If Heatley is being cooperative, Murray sure as hell doesn't need to be.

I dont think there is any way Vancouver deals Hodgson. If I'm in Vancouver's shoes, I'll take my shot at a UFA instead of giving away a guy that could be the best player they drafted since Lindon. If we are looking at this objectivly, Hodgson isnt going anywhere, for anyone.

I would love him in Ottawa though.

Send me these sites...

Wink

EDIT: Perhaps not... were these sites all teenie-bopper discussion forums and the like?
