Then you can forget about the 1st rounder. Right?

Depends who's top prospect and first it is. LA's? We're laughing: Teubert/Hickey + 5th overall. Atlanta's? We're laughing: Bogosian + 4th overall.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say he wont be going back to Atlanta.

If we're looking at it that way, he's not going to anybody in the top 10 except Edmonton possibly.

What?? confused He's not going to Atlanta because of what happene.....nvm.

Hell no, you're giving up a proven 50 goal guy. You might not get the super star back, but you better be getting super star potential. Anyways, I dont think Nashville has the goods that they are willing to deal to get Heatley.

I wouldnt trade Wilson for anything at this point, kid could be a star of his own.

You mean, unhappy with the 4th most ice-time on the team (second amongst all forwards behind Alfredsson)? Unhappy being a mainstay on the first line and on the powerplay? Unhappy with your alternate captaincy? Unhappy with the fact that you were given the C when Alfredsson went down with injury?

:^^^^:

If you take out PK minutes, then Heatley may have been first on the team.

He or Spezza, yeah. Although Heatley was given some PK time.

The only PK time I saw was early on, when Clouston first took over. And it was usually when there were just 10-15 seconds left in the PK with a faceoff in the other team's end. And Spezza was on the ice winning the face off.

The online sports talk world is rampant with talk of a possible move to Western Canada for senor Heatley.

The most interesting rumor I've heard yet....Dany Heatley for Joe Thornton + their first round pick.

Didn't we already have that and have traded it away since...?

Or is that for the 2010 draft?

Meh, I wouldnt do it... there is a real chance to change the culture here in Ottawa, take advantage of it. Build the team in the mold of what a winner should be.

Get tougher, get meaner, get more adressive. Get more resposible, harder working, and a better attitude overall.

It will be interesting to say the least.

It's all just nonsense talk anyways. I doubt Bryan Murray has even answered his phone yet from anyone. He probably has his staff making a list of their needs and requirements and then indexing a list of players they will target and what they would possibly be looking for in a package deal.

Apparently he asked for it last week, and now it's just out in the public, probably right around the time he said Spezza wouldnt be traded to deflect the attention. Good work by old BM right there.

There is prob almost a deal in place as we speak.

It will be a the draft. Braydenn Schenn, Ekman Larsson, Colten Teubert, Ryan O Really and Oscar Moller on the same day Rockon

Hopefully BM has a deal in place already and this "leak" doesn't hamper any potential deals.

The Sens need this cap relief if they hope to keep A-Train, so I don't think we will have a dollar for dollar deal past the upcoming season.

Under for 10-11, where the cap could be 50-52 million. There also won't be a bonus cushion as it is the last year of the CBA.
Heatley 7.5
Spezza 7.0
Alfie 4.5
Fisher 4.2
Kelly 2.1
Ruutu 1.3
Kuba 3.7
Phillips 3.5
Leclerc 3.8
Emery buyout .5
TOTAL 38.5 (approx) for 9 players

This leaves 12 million for 11 players, with no A-train or Foligno. Those two will be 6-7 million.

You take away Heatley, you have a lot more flexibility. Look for Murray to ask for one of these types of deals:

1. Including a standout rookie from this season, so that he has salary control until the 11-12 season.
2. Bundling a bad contract (Kelly? Fisher?) in with Heatley.
3. A top 3 pick in this year's draft (Garth Snow, I'm talking to you).

I'm sure we'll have lots of predictions as to trades, but I think Minnesota is looking to make a splash, and they're not happy with Brent Burns right now. Heatley, Lee for Burns, a 1st, ++ could be your deal.
