This Nash talk is ludicrous. Can we please start remembering that Heatley has a NMC?

The only reason Heatley would waive to go to Columbus is to play with Nash and in front of Mason...

One thing I laughed at is TSN's description of Heatley as being "unhappy with his role on the team."

You mean, unhappy with the 4th most ice-time on the team (second amongst all forwards behind Alfredsson)? Unhappy being a mainstay on the first line and on the powerplay? Unhappy with your alternate captaincy? Unhappy with the fact that you were given the C when Alfredsson went down with injury?

Depends who's top prospect and first it is. LA's? We're laughing: Teubert/Hickey + 5th overall. Atlanta's? We're laughing: Bogosian + 4th overall.

Braydenn Shenn, Evander Kane or whoever in that top 5 should be ready in 1 or 2 years. We're not going anywhere next year, might as well have the best preparation for the years after.

In terms of playing in the NHL, yeah, Schenn/Kane could be ready in 1-2 years. In terms of making an impact at all comparable to Heatley?

If ever, you're looking at 5-6 years down the line at least.

Ya, but I dont really think that's important at this point. You are going to be looking 4, 5 years down the line with this deal. Thats when a lot of the young guys may very well be ready to make that huge impact and we will (hopefully) stull have established guys like Spezza, Foligno, Fisher, A train, Leclaire still around.

Heatley has to be used as a rebuilding tool, not to lure another big name.

Heatley and Lee for Hamhuis, JP Dumont and NSH 1st

I am not expecting any of these guys to score 50 goals, ever, if that's what you're asking. But I expect(hope) more of a Corry Perry/Ryan Getzlaf impact at the same age, which would be more than possible. Why not? Braydenn Schenn and Evander Kane play physical, very good all around and work their a$$ off every night. 50/60 points in 2 years is possible, and it would be more than enough, if you have 1 or 2 defensemen with 40 or more points (Campoli + Karlsson, for example).

The year Detroit won the cup, Cleary and Hudler were the 3rd best pointer among Forwards, with 42 points...

Wilson has to be coming back.

It was mentioned his ice time went down considerably, and was inconsistent - one day he was over 22 mins, the next 12. One day he's a 1st line player, the next 2nd. Then he's a 1st pairing PP, then he's 2nd. He wasn't happy, and he's made his choice.

Those scenarios were my dream, likely not going to happen, I realize that. But if people are throwing out Weber and Phaneuf I am going to throw out Nash.

Dood... Heatley isn't waiving to go to Atlanta... That shouldn't be too hard to understand.

No Diddle way. Add Colin Wilson or Jon Blum and then we can start talking.

If we're looking at it that way, he's not going to anybody in the top 10 except Edmonton possibly.

It doesn't make any sense, though...

Although what you're saying has merit here, I don't think he means that in regards to going to a bad team.

If you take out PK minutes, then Heatley may have been first on the team.

Then you can forget about the 1st rounder. Right?
