has bobby ryan signed yet?

*sigh*

this is going to feel like a long summer. maybe Ryan wants the team to pull something to edge this team to being more competitive.

That's what Statspadzza wanted. Look how that ended up. "Predict Ryan's Return" thread to come?

well in all fairness a trade would be nice to add some scoring punch. quantity for quality type of deal, the kind that's been preached on and on by BM for the past years. honestly we could be talking about only a couple of mill in salary increased.

and yeah there's more and more talk coming from players about management/ownership making moves to bolster and commit to this team. it's becoming more and more apparent this is a problem. we lose ryan and it's a giant red flag.

Agreed there re: Ryan. For a 'true' billionaire, a couple of million more to sign an important player shouldn't be an issue. How much of this 'budget' is controlled by his creditors? Are the Sens actually collateral for many of his massive loans? If so, shouldn't the NHL have some say in that?

Well, according to some Random Useless Blogger, the NHL has had Melnyk and the Sens on their "Watch List" for quite a while.

Don't like the sound of that.. Could they (the NHL) be looking for a buyer for the Sens? Crosses fingers.

An interview with Turris. He said about the same thing that Cowen did about all players playing the same way.

LOL That was all from last year. @TravisHeHateMe did all of this "forensic" investigative reporting and got branded as a "random useless blogger" by Melnyk himself. Daly came out and said it was a bunch of BS and that there was no such thing as a watch list.

Former #TBLightning and #SYRCrunch defenseman Brian Lee, injured all last year, has retired. Getting into banking on FL's west coast.

Brian Lee is retiring.

Actually the bank made an error -- Brian Lee is denying (it was some other player from the AHL).

Brian Lee has *not* retired.

CORRECTION: Yesterday a bank in FL said former TB player Brian Lee, now retired, was its new branch manager. Tweet spread, Lee denied it...

Bank error (in no one's favor). Turns out bank Brian played in AHL, not NHL. Different Brian Lee who played hockey. My apologies all around.

Ceci played almost 50 games in the NHL last year, playing 17+ mins a night and 1.5 mins on the PP per night. He was a bright spot in a pretty dark year. I'd be pretty shocked, frankly, if he didn't start with the big club. Absolutely shocked, actually.

Who else with deep enough pockets would want to keep the team in Ottawa?

Melnyk has been industrious in trying to grow the business by attempting to add MLS and a Casino only to have roadblocks thrown up by the City. How is that environment attractive to a buyer?

Let's not go there with the council of the City of Ottawa. They are just bad for business. They would sooner save the harness racing than their hockey team. That Casino issue was fixed in favour of the mayor. It just made no sense in way of creation of jobs and more tax revenue for the City had they gone with the Melnyk bid.

Bad for business. Good for the Greenbergs.

Maybe Melnyk can't do anything in the city, but someone else could. He doesn't exactly endear himself to people here, he doesn't even live here. OSEG doesn't seem to have as much trouble.

If they can find owners for the Islanders and Coyotes they can most certainly find an owner for the Sens. Especially after that massive TV deal they got.

I can't believe the Sens are losing as much money as he says they are. They would have received revenue sharing if that was the case. The issue with Melnyk, IMO, is the debt he is carrying and what it is costing him to even meet the interest payments, let alone pay it down.

Hopefully you are starting to see what a lot of us have been saying about Spezza and the effect he had on "his" team.

The 6th Sens praises the Dallas Stars' quick action in making sure Spezza has a winger... something he says the Sens failed to accomplish...

Will be interesting in Dallas for sure...

What an annoying article. Spezza's compete level isn't in question because he played in the playoffs in 2013, and the Sens never got him a winger, but Dallas got him Hemsky. I don't even know where to start with that pile.
