Senators select D Miles Gendron from Rivers Academy. He plays for former Senators winger Shawn McEachern, who is the head coach. #Sens

Obviously recommended... we'll see if it pans out. Sens are drafting for depth and going safe, that's it.

Yeah, it is the general thought of this draft. Shallow draft, even more so for impact forwards and goalies. Lots of big D-men to be had.

Sens are taking big D men who can skate... a lot of the other parts of the game you can mold.

Starting to question whether Murray had any intention of moving Spezza at all yesterday. Obviously didn't want a 1st rounder in the 2014 draft... at least late.

Yah he was. One thing the Sens are doing with their picks outside of the first round is they are picking players that have potential and tons of time to develop. Too many prospects ready to make the jump and too many in the NHL/AHL. These guys won't be ready for 4, 5, maybe 6 years.

Knowing the Sens, I expect a player who missed half the year with an injury that was supposed to go in the early rounds.
