In all fairness to cloverleaf, some of you guys were pretty tactless in your comments towards his posts and his information. Come on guys, be fair.

The Montagoose wrote:Ok so I just saw a replay of the hit. Can someone tell me why outside of a piggy back ride by Carkner right afterwards that no one did anything until the game was way out of hand. To me, the message sent was that the team is soft. If memory serves me correct that is now the 2nd time this year where Alfie was taken out and there was no payback. God help this team if they cant stand up for each other.

It happened on the PP and neither Carkner nor Neil were out there. Michalek jumped on him right away by Adams refused the invite. Other than the resulting PP they had from Michalek's roughing call, that was a bad decision since Carkner got him pretty good later on.

I don't think this was a case of the Sens being soft. Someone went after him immediately, and later in the game he had to answer the bell and got his clock rung.

Not sure who that was aimed at, but to be fair, you had zero credibility at the time you posted. Now you have some, don't blow it on being arrogant.

From what I read so far he isnt far off of some things other posted and then bragged about.
Thank you Montagoose. They will soon understand about their goalies as well.

Strictly by definition.

The high tech company I was working for decided to go for a CMM assessment. The auditors came in and said we were CMM-level 0. I was miffed because, surely, we were better than that! Well, apparently not, since until you are properly assessed you are, by definition, level-0.

Same thing here. This is the first time we'd heard anything like that from you. You didn't state your source, and what you said was quite different from what anyone was reporting.

You want some credibility from the get go, then offer a source. Even that's not going to get you as much as past history.

Clover, is your source also informing you of future injuries to be suffered by Pascal Leclaire? Seriously, the guy's got a history, for sure, but that's not a "source".

But why would someone name a source? That would be the last time they ever got information from them. And if he said a "family member" would you buy it?

You didn't start off with zero credibility. You earned it with 100+ posts of drivel.

Wrong. Current work from management TO THE MEDIA is 4-6 weeks. Current word from management is 6-8 weeks with a 3rd degree seperation. Come on wprager you are smart enough to know what the politics are in a situation like this

Well, like I said, past history is really the only way to get credibility. And I wasn't suggesting naming the source, but at least saying "Someone on the executive management team".

Actually, if that was me I would probably have said that I had a source and the source was saying 3rd degree separation; then I'd mention that that usually means 6-8 weeks.

Credibility is earned, not given by default, unless you happen to be Clouston or Murray.

My only issue with your original post was that you didn't even intimate that you had a source or connections. Perhaps a post that contained "Hey guys, I have a source within the Sens management who won't be named but I'm hearing that Alfie has a Grade 3 separation in his shoulder, is expected to be out 6-8 weeks and will miss the Olympics unless he pulls a miraculous early recovery. This is just what I'm hearing and the info should be made public shortly."

The only thing you were off on was the expected time line for his return, which you could have even said "hey, the time line for his return may be more or less..."

That's how I would have approached that. But that's just me.

Wink

Actually, I am quite dumb when it comes to these things, but thanks for the vote of confidence Smile

I also remember when Alfie had his knee scoped and didn't miss a game, or when he had his jaw broken and missed one game.

I will definitely think twice before I share the truth again. I guess you can call that a self inflicted injury to GMHockey

You are such a punk. This passive agressive martyrdom is the primary reason why I don't like you.

Good call Cloverleaf. That's awesome that you have a source in the family. I guess it'll be good for future inside infos if you care to share.

Still...I really want someone with crazy inside sources for trades and Dung like that. That would be neat. Ahhhhh!

Are you serious? Pfft...okay then. I had no issues with people brushing you off, what credibility did you hold? It's not like it's Shabbs or Asq or even Neely saying this, you weren't even a constant poster for a long time.

Don't have such thin skin man, it just won't work out in a hockey forum.

It's your choice what you wish to share with this community, and we're always willing to listen to inside info that has legs from a consistently reliable member... what we don't want is baseless rumours and speculation like we see on HBuzz and other sites. This looked like it might have been that type of rumour in the beginning, but credit where credit is due in the end. Unfortunately this thread took a rocky road on the way there.
