RDS is reporting that Sergei will report after all (here's TSN's version for the linguistically impaired):

Good for him, work his way back up. A press conference to explain what happened would be a good idea.

Reports from Montreal say Sergei has already played his last game in Montreal. A seventh round draft pick who hasn't worked hard enough to secure his spot with the big club.

The hockey writers who make up the panel on "L'Antichambre" have rendered their verdict:

No offence, but it's so hard to take the Montreal media seriously. Not trying to defend Sergei, but when's the last time they haven't overblown Canadiens' news?

No offence to who?

Are you including Francois Gagnon, Rejean Tremblay and Yvon Pedneault--three of the finest hockey commentators in the business--in your sweeping condemnation of Montreal media?

As for young Mr. Kostitsyn, suggesting he's 'worn out his welcome in Montreal' is far from an illogical statement, given the young man's chequered career there...but perhaps you have a compelling argument otherwise.

And don't look now but he has been suspended yet again for leaving the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Trade him to the Leafs already.
