There will be interest in Methot. They have not traded him yet because their demands have not been met. They aren't going to trade him back to Ottawa unless they can get a better deal than what's already been offered.

If Ottawa can't re-sign Condon, I see Niemi being as a back-up option. He will be paid via buy-out and put up great numbers over his career aside from last season in Dallas.

That's good. I'm glad Pyatt gets a couple years of job security too. He was good at his role. I never understood why the analytics community did not like him. It's like they stopped watching the actual games to look at numbers.

$1.1M AAV over two years - I guess I'm ok with that. It's less than they paid Neil, and he can play third line minutes. I don't expect Wingels to be back, or Stalberg either. DiDomenico will start on Belleville of he's still with Ottawa.

So we drop Neil, Kelly, Wingels, Stalberg and bring in White.

It seems strange to me that the price was this low for a top-4 defenceman. It was a 2020 2nd rounder and that goalie prospect was just a 7th round pick. So a 2nd rounder in 3 years and a 7th rounder. Good lord.
