Im a little cold these days on Eberle. Seems that if we are hanging on to Bobby Ryan and then stone and white we are in a position of strength on the right side. I'm not sure where Eberle fits in.

I think White starts on the 4th line until there's an injury.  Sign Stalberg and let Wingels walk and there's room I think.
Wait, you mean pyatt would stay on the third line? Mmmhhh possibly I guess. But I think that gets reversed in a short time. Or maybe you have burrows in that third line RW spot. Which makes sense. The org keeps putting him on the left for some reason. Same for stalberg. Which I wish they would just resign. It's not like he's getting picked up in expansion. Maybe they want to see if Dzingel gets picked up. They might not see a spot for him if he doesn't. I'm not sure how the org thinks these days.

I forgot about Pyatt, but he hasn't been re-signed yet, so he might be done here.

The locks are:

Hoff - Turris - Stone
Mac - Brassard - Ryan
Smith - Pageau - Dzingel (if kept)
Burrows - ?  -  ?

White

There's room on the 4th line for guys to play hard and then be called up when injuries hit
I have a feeling Pyatt will be resigned. Just from the exit media availability and the tone Dorion had. Unless he has outrageous salary demands, I think he deserves a contract. Same for stalberg. But who knows. The org might feel there are too many bodies knocking at the door in Belleville.

So is the Drouin trade a precursor to the Sens finally getting Duchene?

I know it's nice to think about landing a big fish, but I just don't see the Sens bringing in anyone of significance. Too many contracts up for renewal in the near future.

Me too. Strike while the iron is hot. I could see a Ceci for Eberle (some salary retained) type of deal happen.

I think the market is set and it's Chabot for Duchene and there's no way, so Colorado has likely lost this arms race.

Not sure that's the market. Ottawa can't take on that salary straight up like that.

if nothing else works, and Dustin Brown says yes, then a Brown for Phaneuf swap makes sense. They both make the same amount of money for the rest of their contracts. Brown has one extra year, and would fill a RW need. He can play in Boucher's system no problem and he adds leadership which we would lose in Phaneuf

Montreal got better by adding Drouin but their D still isn't getting younger and they still don't have a good center. Galchenyuk, Pacioretty and Drouin are left wingers. Neither one is a center or third liner. Looks like Galchenyuk will be moved, likely in a package for a center. So, roster wise it will be Galchenyuk + someone else for Drouin and a center (Duchene?). Makes the team better (assuming that someone else is not a big piece). However Markov and Weber are both a year older, Subban is still in Nashville and Beaulieu is still Beaulieu.

And Radulov is not signed.

If we are being fair, Galchenyuk IS a center. They are just being impatient with him. I think they might regret trading him.

Im really not liking this media chatter about "having to trade Phaneuf" and if it's for Dustin brown then we are getting Cussed. We'll likely lose claesson also and that will be two Dmen gone.
Not liking this at all.

Claesson is nothing special. Remember, we're adding Chabot anyway.

Gally was drafted to be a center. 5 seasons and 2 coaches later he is still not a center. They pretty much had a presser to say he will play left wing.

BTW, Friedman saying Nesterov will not receive a QO. Shopping hard for a D. But they also need a center.
