Gudbranson and a late pick to Vancouver for Jared McCann and a couple mid round picks.

McCann and a 2nd 4rth. Don't love this for Vancouver. ..

FYP. love It now?

Sens like Gubranson wasnt planning out in Florida. Might as well get some value. Van probably just trying to get a younger D going.

I read that a second went back as well. Do you see something saying different?

Chris Johnston ✔ ‎@reporterchris
So it's McCann, a 2016 2nd and 2016 4th to #FlaPanthers for Gudbranson and 2016 5th. No salary retained.

We have no room for a $6M+ player, and I don't mean the internal budget.  We have Turris/Zibanejad/Pageau/Lazar/Smith/White down the middle, so there is no room for a center at all.  On the left side we have Hoffman/MacArthurz/Smith/Puempel/Dzingle.  On the right we have Stone/Ryan/Neil.

While there is room on the right (even thought there's certainly a chance that Chiasson returns) it's certainly not room for "Steve Austin" (for you kids, "Steve Austin" is the original $6M man).

A trade with someone else going the other way would be needed before we bring anyone else in.

I'd personally rather pay him 7 million for 3 years than 6.5 X 5, but I doubt he says yes to that. It's tricky, I'd have to look at when Karlsson, Stone etc. are coming up and have to see what they'll do with Hoffman. You need a spreadsheet for this kind of long term contract for sure.

I still think Ottawa MUST make a move for an elite level forward. It's really quite serious right now, we need one more gun to even things out. Eriksson would be amazing...

Hopefully "Off Season Rumours" will lead to off season trades for the Ottawa Senators.

6x5 is what I'm hearing. Although I imagine for Ottawa it will likely have to be 6.5.

Even if it's what we need I just highly doubt we get him.
Dorion will likely just go after someone for that 3rd RW position.

I'll keep coming back to this but the Sens were 1 point back of Detroit with a game in hand when Turris twisted his leg. They were horrible defensively but that's not going to be solved by one forward.

Anderson has the best eyes in the league, apparently (stops the highest percentage of shots he can see in the entire league) so we need to do a better job of boxing people out and clearing the way. Again, that's not an elite forward's job.

Organic growth with Hoffman (playing for a coach he likes), Stone, Ceci, Pageau, Puempel, Wideman, will add a few goals to our total. Add to that a better powerplay (Boucher's calling card), better defensive system and better coaching, overall (out *associate* coach has won a friggin' cup a a *head* coach) and this team will be certainly better. And I have not even brought up a healthy CMac (hopefully) and a resurgence for Ryan (again, hopefully).

Veteran D to play on the third pairing (and fill in on the 2nd if there are injuries), some forward depth, maybe splurge at the trade deadline, and we'll be well on our way to the 2nd round.

We should trade Anderson ASAP. Hammond is a great option. Look at how unimportant goalies are anyway

No Dung.

A: I have no faith that Hammond can take a team to the promise land, he reminds me of Elliot in that regards but not even as good.
B: I think had the blues had Anderson they might be heading to the finals.

Hammond had a fantastic five on five save percentage this season and has proven he can take us to he playoffs. I'd rather go with the cheaper option in net and spend elsewhere. I'm not trolling at all. Anderson is extremely overrated by a section of our fan base

No the blues just couldn't score goals, it had nothing to do with goaltending

The only way we could trade anderson is if we had a matt Murray or a martin Jones, but yes, goalies are relatively easy to find these days. I actually don't think andy has much value.

You answered the question in paragraph one. When turris went down our season was pretty much over, we need better depth and one more true top six forward.

No 4 goals on 26 shots... Not Elliots fault. Might have given them a better chance if he had stopped half of the ones he let in.

I think Allen just needs another year. Elliot is a back up and shouldn't be relied on.

"O'connor"?

If that guy doesn't pan out we'll be entering the goalie circus for another 10 years.

Eventually, but not until after this next year would he be even close to ready. More like 2 or 3 years.

Allen has no future as a number one. The blues wouldn't have mad it far without Elliott's stellar play.

You're under rating him and overrating goaltending as a position

The blues will never win a cup with Elliot in net.
Once jake Allen fully develop, they will have a better chance. Lacks NHL experience.

Allen stinks. Always has. Anderson won't be winning any cups either due his his mental state and averageness. Sens have Hogberg, Oconnor, and Hammond and can easily snag another goalie soon with expansion draft coming.
