No one has any good rumours anymore, it's annoying,. It's all speculation from nobodys. It's an ex citing time though, you never know when something might happen. ..

Now, before everyone gets blamey about that, it doesn't mean that the Sens "missed the boat" or "blew the trade" or whatever. I'm guessing Yzerman knew exactly what he had there and wasn't going to move him unless he was winning the trade.
So, for anyone who thinks that the Sens lost out on a trade or weren't aggressive enough, ask yourself if you'd want to lose on that trade. Imagine sending a 1st, Chabot/White, and Hoffman or something along those lines. I'm guessing the ask wasn't too far from that.
I think the ask was Ceci and a 1st and went down to (Chabot/white), 1st and another moving part. I'm quite ok with keeping Chabot/white and it's too early to say if the first was worth keeping. As for Hoffman it's a bit interesting that no contract has been done so far. Could be traded I guess. I'm afraid the return would be underwhelming And wouldn't adress his departure.spader wrote:Sounds like young Mr. Drouin has rescinded his trade request (demand). Based on the rumours the ask was a young, RH D, NHL ready or already in the league.
If Ceci could have got Drouin we should all be sick to our stomachs that it didn't happen.

Well, I was a big negative nancy when it came to duschene being traded but I think you are on the right track. I think a D man has to be going the other way though. They are trying to adress that part of their team the most.DefenceWinsChampionships wrote:Flo The Action wrote:I think the ask was Ceci and a 1st and went down to (Chabot/white), 1st and another moving part. No one is coming in at $4.5M and scoring 30+ goals so yeah whatever we acquire via trade will be underwhelming. That is unless it is to a team like Colorado who can use the cap savings to help sign someone like Barrie
To Ott: Duchene
To Colorado: Hoffman, White ($ to sign RFA Barrie)

He's either going to Toronto, Chicago (they'll find a way around their cap hell), or staying in Tampa.
Yeah I don't see how you can make Chicago make that happen.Michallica wrote:What's driving this Stamkos to Detroit rumor? It makes no sense to me.

I think Tampa and Toronto are out. Detroit and Buffalo seem to be the front-runners now.

Even with Barrie they still want a top 4 D. Their D is atrocious.DefenceWinsChampionships wrote:Flo The Action wrote:Well, I was a big negative nancy when it came to duschene being traded but I think you are on the right track. They get their defenceman if they can re-sign Barrie. They also have Matthias and Boedker as RFA's which they can use that cap space to sign a d-man or trade their 1st rd pick.
