Krejci rookie season was 07-08 and Bergeron was on an entry level when Chara signed there.

What were their big money contracts.

More importantly, what does any of this have to do with Trade Deadline BONANZA 2015?

I contributed above that saying I'd trade Chiasson and Puempel for Eriksson Smile

I think we can be a little more predatory and make it a Chiasson + 3rd offer.

That would be a steal.

Apparently the Bs are trying to get rid of Seidenberg and Eriksson as a cap-saving measure.

Seidenberg is a LD, but I don't think he's a significant enough upgrade on what we have already.

I'll take Eriksson in a semi-soft deal, but Seidenberg...man, I loved that guy as a player for a long time, but I think the years are catching up to him in a big way.  Pass.
Doubt the Sens do any soft deals. Remember the term money in - money out.

That's "smart spending."

Translation: Cowen has little value around the league right now, unfortunately, so if he's moved, it won't be part of a package for a legit top liner.

So in other words, you don't move him now (or at all), you move Wiercioch and his 2 million bucks for a pick and you try to do the same with Legwand.  Done and done?  More to come.
I think it'll be Cowen at least, 3.7 next year and 4.5 the next. We already have 53M on the books for next year without resigning anyone and they want the payroll to be around 60M.

What about Legwand and Wiercioch coming off the books though?

Bad math on my part. We are at 60M next year without Hoffman, Stone, Zibanejad and Chiasson signed. So they will need to cut about 9m before next season.

Buyout Greening and add Pageau saves 1M. Move Wiercioch saves 2.7. Find a taker for Legwand and add a player for 1M saves 2.5.

Still need to reduce another 3M or so assuming you resign the 4 RFAs for 9M.

I I'd be surprised if we can rid ourself of Legwand. If he was a pending FA I think it be doable for depth on some teams but with a year remaining might be tough.

Wiercioch is $2M, not $2.7M. Are you thinking of Cowen? He's $2.7M this season but cap hit is $3.1M.

I have Weircioch at 2.7M next year with a 2M cap hit.

I'm not sure anyone will be interested in a 34 year old Patty Wiercioch.

Nevermind, I see $2.7M on NHLnumbers.com.

Never liked that site so I never bookmarked them. I just google now.
