Wowzers. Man, that sucks for St. Louis to be handcuffed like this, but I guess this is what you get for handing out NTCs/NMCs.

I don't think he has a no trade,  I think he just said no to signing that contract.

Oh yeah, you're right, he doesn't have a NTC or anything.... Alright, well it won't be too hard to St Louis to move him then.

Moving as a rental only gives them a much smaller return. Word is he wants to go to the Rangers but they don't need him now; it would be in the summer. So whoever takes him will only have him for the stretch run and post-season, then he's gone.

Might as well hang on to him, in that case. Which probably means the market on the remaining D-men has gone up.

St Louis lost Backes and someone else I forget for nothing, and I doubt they want to do that with Shattenkirk too...but yeah, tough to make a deal now and get something worthwhile I guess.

Shatts is an idiot. That's a crazy deal for playing in the sun.

Any team giving him that term and dollar is gonna regret it. He's played under a good structured system with many great D man. If he goes to a team expecting him to be a number 1 or 2 they are gonna regret it

He's not an idiot, he knows that he's getting that no matter what, so he's waiting to go to new York or boston.

He's screwing with st Louis, but that's life.

For a guy that has always been rumoured to be traded out of st-Louis it comes as a bit of a surprise. But probably a good idea to keep him.
