Legwand isn't a better player than Richards, lol.

that will never happen....tim1_2 wrote:SpezDispensed wrote:I agree with what 1200 is saying. You don't take Richards without big compensation from la. Maybe you swing a trade with them and give them something as well, but you don't just take Richards.
I figured a trade for Richards would have to include another bad contract going to them...and then more coming back from LA. Something like Richards and Toffoli for Greening and Methot.

3 Things to pass along:
1- No new contracts have recently been drawn up for Methot. Offer that I mention a couple of weeks ago, still stands. (this can obviously change very quickly) (the offer was 2 years for $5 and 4 years for $4.5).
2- Documentation for Greening to be waived is being worked on this morning. (apparently there is a small chance he could be traded as a couple of offers have come in during the last 24 hours).
3- Murray made a "massive" offer on something last night. Approx 5-6M in and out.

If there was anything there, I think it would have been easy to swap Greening for Richards and whatever incentive LA would add. Maybe the player is just a pariah. We already have a much better, cheaper player in Legwand and choose not to play him anyway.

Who knows what they want, but I would imagine they don't want Greening's term on their books with the amount of re-signing they have to do.
Legwand for Richards and a 2nd perhaps? At least Lombardi looks like he spend the 2nd on a player who isn't a dead loss.

Huh...one of the few guys who actually knows what he's talking about if it's Benji1 or Backdoorpass I think it is.
Murray and co will have to really think about Methot IMO. He's a guy who fits in next to Karlsson like no one else in the organization. They just work together, whether he's a partier or not, when he gets on the ice, he and Karlsson feed off each other. Is it a coincidence that Karlsson really started looking good when Methot came back? I don't think so personally.
Not sure what that offer would be. Probably for Hall, which is probably not ever gonna happen.

Not that I expected him to call him a coke-head on radio, but why would he say anything at all if he didn't actually believe that? NEELY, what's your "in" on Mike Richards? You sure you weren't talking about the comedian from Seinfeld?

Karlsson plays better with Methot but he looked better the second the coaches changed. He also won a Norris with Kuba so while Methot should be resigned if it's reasonable he isn't some cure-all for Karlsson. Who's to say Claeson isn't a guy that can play next to Karlsson? Borowiecki? Methot makes the team better, no question but he's isn't worth the world.

What's the world though? Paying him 5.25 million dollars? I'd say that's a more than acceptable risk.
