Maybe, yah. I would give up Chaisson for Kassian in a heart beat because I believe the upside offensively is the same but Kassian has much more of an edge and can change a game with it. Same handedness, same size... same offensive output for the most part.

As always, it depends on the price. If its a one for one, why not. If its more than chiasson, don't think you bother.

Evander Kane a healthy scratch. Winnipeg scouting the Ottawa/Devils game last night. Trade imminent?

Evander Kane would be a Bobby Ryan type deal. No doubt there and he is the type of PF the Sens need.

He's either our #2 defenceman for many more years to come or the key to acquiring that center/top-three forward that we have coveted for some time.

He's our number 2 D-man for the next 5 years IMO. At WORST he's a 4th D-man/2nd pairing guy - and that's at worst case scenario.

I don't know how he's the key to getting a top 3 F though, what do you mean? Perhaps in getting a 1st rounder or a good prospect and parlaying it?

I'm not a big fan of the kid's attitude, but he's the kind of top line talent we desperately need. Wonder what it would take.

A fair bit I would guess. Both 2nds, perhaps someone like Neil or Chiasson and then one of Lazar or similar. It won't be cheap I would expect, but if he's indeed a scratch, his time is probably coming.

I can't see Winnipeg trading him. If you were ChevyTakeTheDayOff would you trade him?

For the reasons I don't like him, he's a prick, he's a crappy locker room guy by all accounts, he's a prick and no one likes him and I've heard 'cancer' thrown around when his name comes up.

Buyer hugely beware on this one....but...he's got mad skillz and he's young and still could mature, especially if/when he's traded from the team that drafted him because they don't want him anymore.

I'd be very surprised if the jets traded Kane durring the season. they'd be better off running with him into the playoffs giving him a chance to prove what he can do under pressure then getting a package back that wouldn't help them as much for the playoffs.
if i remember correctly what the jets are lacking is a top 6 forward and were willing to deal a D-man for one. not our type of deal. they were probably scouting NJ and no ottawa.
if there is a deal with the jets it would be in the summer and they'd most likely be asking for a pick(maybe our 2nd, maybe both), a guy like stone or Hoffman(i doubt we can get away with replacing him with a chiasson) and another top prospect. i'm not interested in trading hoffman but i migt consider it if it's stone. It's risky, i'm unsure of what type of player he will turn out to be long term. or what type of player Kane will be in the end also.

Kane could be an absolute disaster in the locker room, there are clearly off ice issues with the kid and yah, could be a cancer. Hockey wise he's exactly the type of player the Sens need.

Not sure what they are going to do in Winnipeg though because that's a relationship is pure poison right now.

I can see an offer coming from Ottawa personally. It's a big risk though if he's indeed as big a prick as some say, but the value of that kid will be there if you need to trade him again, big, big time potential and skills.

If they trade Kane now it will be at a low price just to ship him out. If they wait until summer they are much more likely to get someone to pay up while they are reshaping their team for the new season.

Sure are and you try to avoid them. I like Kane a lot as a hockey player but to ignore the risk of taking a guy like that who puts himself way ahead of the team is a huge factor. It's not just one coach he has had a problem with at this point either or a coach that had to send him a message, it's been 2 or 3 now.

Kane needs to grow up in a big way, he's being paid millions of dollars and that comes with some sort of responsibility off the ice and to his team. He's a very "me first" type guy and again, hug factor in any move for him.
