The guy is a complete moron so there's a ton of risk.

This is the NHL. There are lots of complete morons in the league.

Sure are and you try to avoid them. I like Kane a lot as a hockey player but to ignore the risk of taking a guy like that who puts himself way ahead of the team is a huge factor. It's not just one coach he has had a problem with at this point either or a coach that had to send him a message, it's been 2 or 3 now.

Kane needs to grow up in a big way, he's being paid millions of dollars and that comes with some sort of responsibility off the ice and to his team. He's a very "me first" type guy and again, hug factor in any move for him.

I looked at Kane's numbers.

Only scored 20+ goals once in his career.

Not sure the risk is worth the reward for him.

He's like the Kyle Turris situation but with a lot more upside

It's not even close to the Kyle Turris situation. There are literally nothing in common with them other than there's a split. Kane has off ice issues, the extent I am not sure but there are issues there.

How is it like the Turris situation? Winnipeg would keep him if he weren't a PoS. Turris just didn't fit in with the coaches and systems due to his size and style of play. Never an attitude problem. If anything, this is the exact opposite of the Turris situation.

Turris was not well regarded in Phoenix and held out for money he wasn't worth. What has Kane done to be considered a PoS exactly? If he was white would anybody care?

I never once heard Turris called the things Kane has been called, black, white or orange. Turris held out for more money - while Kane is a complete Donkey Chapeau off the ice and his on ice level of commitment is deeply in question too.

Apples and oranges.

Tyler Seguin had off-ice issues. Pat Kane... It's time to put that Dung to bed and get some skill and good players.

Kane wasn't just benched, he was benched for a game in his home town. He grew up in Vancouver and started his NHL career in Hotlanta. Maybe he just doesn't like the cold in Winterpeg and doing his best to get a ticket out of town.

Kane having "fun" off the ice with twitter and all that is all well and good if he shows up to play and doesn't distance himself from the team... see other Kane. Kane has always wanted the attention on himself, Turris never did and saying he held out for money is in some way comparable to Kane is wrong. One, Kane never held out for money. Two, Turris actions were based on his situation in terms of his role on the team and the business of hockey.

Kane's issues are all personal and all created where no one is at fault except himself. He's extremely immature and he's extremely selfish.

Again, the two situations that you compared are not similar in anyway other than two players being on the outs with their current teams.

Tyler Seguin is also an Donkey Chapeau, but one of the better players in the league. Not sure what Boston was doing there. In no way is Kane on that level.

That said, I agree, it might be time to bring in someone like this at a slightly reduced price and hope to heck he doesn't poison the room. We need skill.

Neither one of those guys put them self ahead of the team... immature? Sure. Ill advised nights out? Absolutely. Being a complete a$$hole and knowingly breaking team rules... not to mention not having played all that well the last 2 seasons after signing a huge deal... not the same.

E.Kane has a ton of growing up to do and maybe he does just need a fresh start and to move on for things to click but again HUGE risk.

Seguin had his issues as a 19/20 year old coming off a 67 point (+34) season

Evander Kane has never even come close to 67 points a season (most 57 points) and is having those issues as a 23/24 year old.

Big difference.

I would also lump Pat Kane in with Seguin, not Evander.

Best mentor for him is probably someone who's turned it around like Mike Ribiero?

OUT: Turdiss (trade), Lazar (AHL) IN: Ribiero (UFA), Kane (trade)
