Well if they can't sign him then yah, you trade him for a 1st or better. It's bad enough if he doesn't sign, it's even worse if they let him walk for nothing.

Pretty much, don't see any reason why you don't have some experience at that top, Alfie back with the organization, and everyone stay in their very new positions that they have held for about 1 year time.

I'd love to get glencross for this team if he was signed.

He's not leaving Calgary.

yeah I don't see how you could promote Dorion to GM, to me that's too much too soon. needs time to witness how things are done. I'm not opposed to shero but i'm not really a fan of blysma and i'm afraid that might be a move that comes with it.

I'm not in favour of Dorion being GM or Randy "glorified gym teacher" Lee being Assistant GM, but if murry hangs around as an advisor, I guess it would smooth the transition well enough.

no no... decisions have to be made and experience has to guide this team. we need a finisher to come in, not a guy that has been a great talent scout. let dorion stay where he is ad continue to assist. he's likely to learn even more about what a good GM can be if a finisher comes in. but will BM hire a fisnisher?

Hoffman has more goals than the following pretty good NHLers: "Mumpsy" Crosby, Gaborik, Backstrom, Cammalleri, Getzlaf, Neal, Datsyuk, E Staal, Steen, 4-in-a-night-Okposo, Toews, Iginla, Zetterberg, Duchene, Plekanec, Benn, Ryan, Bergeron, Kopitar, Hall, and Forsberg.

The 67s had that pick, though. They have a knack for finding players that are missing just a little something to entice NHL teams so they have a better chance of keeping the player longer. In Konecny's case, size. You won't see the 67s draft a potential "phenom" even if they have the 1st overall.
