i'm good with that. i think he can pick a good succesor. I know everyone is saying shero but does anyone see another guy for the job?
I hope murray stays along as advisor.

Lee is going to be up there... fact is he probably has a better handle on a players drive, physical commitment, and attitude vs a lot if not most of management and not just in Ottawa, in the NHL in general.  It doesn't take a genius to figure out someone scored 25 goals last year and probably deserves a raise or someone isn't producing.  It takes something special to figure out what makes guys tick and what gets the best out of them and Lee does that very well for the most part.

There are downsides to that as well, take a guy like Greening for example but for the most part a guy like Lee is a huge asset from management all the way down.

Should he be the next GM? Questionable but there's no reason he shouldn't be a GM's right hand man and learn on the job.

they need new eyes up top. They get too used to their players having been here so long. We need an unbiased opinion from the outside.

I agree with this as well, they don't need to re-invent the wheel but having a guy with a fresh perspective, new idea's isn't a bad thing.

If we're hiring a broadcaster to step in as GM, I guess that rules out Dean Brown and Goodie Wilson.

I do not want Dorion to go anywhere but i really hope it's not Dorion they promote or randy lee. we need experience in there. we also need to keep our drafting team intact. that can happen. new GM's don't always change things around and BM picking the next GM might make sure that happens. when bergeron took over in montreal they kept the same drafting team.

Let's keep our fingers crossed, old friend.

He had a bad start to the year but he's still better than all those guys you mentioned.

Based on? Nobody is suggesting that anywhere

LET'S DO IT!!!

I doubt Alfie wants to retire for a year and then jump back in and work more hours than he did as a player personally.

Senschirp claims to have "heard" that Alfie will be back with Sens as early as the upcoming season.

We may be in for some choppy waters if Murray leaves, specially if an outside GM comes in. Cameron suddenly is on a shorter leash with the new GM likely looking for any excuse to bring in "his guy." Dorion could leave if he doesn't like the snub.

Let's all hope for some beneficial trades before any of this happens!
I told you just before the retirement celebration that Alfie was coming back to work with the team but for taxation purposes he had to wait until July 1, 2015 for it to be official.

Looks like Methot's name won't go away in trade rumours.

Pierre Dorion - GM. President of Hockey Operations
Randy Lee - A/GM, Director of Player Personnel
Bryan Murray - Special Advisor to the GM
Daniel Alfredsson - Special Advisor to the GM, Head of Player Development & Hockey Operations

I think you might see Chris Phillips behind the bench or working with the defenceman in some sort of capacity. Neil I don't think has a future with the organization.

Phillips has another year on his deal.

I really don't see Dorion getting the position but I could be wrong.

My guess is still Shero and Alfredsson will be there for sure. They have a connection as well.
