Just in case anyone was wondering.

Not surprising but still interesting.

What is also interesting is how he has scored all those goals at even strength, not on the PP.

The 67s had that pick, though. They have a knack for finding players that are missing just a little something to entice NHL teams so they have a better chance of keeping the player longer. In Konecny's case, size. You won't see the 67s draft a potential "phenom" even if they have the 1st overall.

You're living in the past. Toffoli, Monahan, Couture, Mrazek. And don't forget our own Ceci.

A great testament to our drafting and developing department.

I think you might see Chris Phillips behind the bench or working with the defenceman in some sort of capacity. Neil I don't think has a future with the organization.

Teaching them the fine art of pointing.

Very sheltered though. That's why he is a +18 or whatever,

Still...he's up against top d assignments, as I think any line with Ryan on it is top line. Why the heck does he not get pp time. It's the caramilk mystery.

I don't have the stats but no way does he face the top d. That's still macarthur and Turris line.

He got pp time but he didn't get a single pp point. He will get there eventually.

Yeah, The Hoff is still a little sheltered, but I see no harm in getting him some PP time.

Is there any news on Methot?

Also, apparently Hoffman was awesome at the skills competition. Columbus tweeted that they needed a scouting report in an amusing way.

Second best time in the speed race and that's all because of a stumble early on. It's a really, really stupid race. One guy does all left turns and the other all right ones. Every practice I've ever been at they go *mostly* left. Warm-ups before NHL games -- left. They used to have the two players start at opposite ends of the blue line which was almost perfect -- you could still see the "photo-finish" as they crossed the line from different directions. The new way is just plain wrong. Probably the only reason Kessel beat Seguin, too.

Sens not approached regarding (insert big name player here). GMs league-wide take "why bother" approach re. trades due to Sens budget. #BUDGET

Has anyone made a trade yet? A trade that wasn't a "problem for problem" type deal? Nope, not that I can think of.

Fact is everyone is waiting for the first one to go down, Murray and the Sens still believe they are in a fight for that last spot (naive), and other teams are also trying to figure out where they fall. Also take in the fact that teams are going to be in cap hell next year and are trying to move out salary.

Give it until mid Feb before the first real big deal goes down.

Ottawa doesn't play again until Thursday? Oye.

I said it before, I don't think Ottawa is quite out of it yet. Our schedule is favourable until the last week of Feb. So we'll know then...chances are we'll still be a few points out, but could be within striking distance.

Ottawa is on the ropes... if they don't pull 11-14 points out of their next 8 games I think they are done for good.

I've been saying that for a long time. No one makes big trades anymore, they all got scared by the seguin trade.

Welcome to the new NHL - parity wins the day.
There were about 3 trades of significance in the off season I can think of. Don't expect an explosive deadline IMO.
