That deal is so Dung they would have been better off keeping Spezza unless what they got helps them get something else. On its own, the trade is utter crap.

Sold low.

Yah, keep a guy who has been begging Murray for a trade for the better part of a decade.   Reasonable statement.

Hyperbole, right there. It was twice, and both times was when the fans/media were calling for his head on a stake. Seriously, anyone with young kids would understand.

It was actually 4 times (2 more than I thought).  Anyone with young kids also wouldn't trash the city of Ottawa like Spezza's father did as well.  Forget where the article or report is but he basically called out the city for not treating him like a God.

Anyways, at the end of the day the douche bag was traded, he was treated fairly because truth be told he didn't do himself any favours at any time.  My friend (who doesn't watch a lick of hockey) said it best or asked it best... "why do I always see Chris Neil, Bobby Ryan, Colin Greening but never Spezza at CHEO?".  It's always been about him, no one else matters including his wife.

Guy is a complete piece of trash.

That's also an hyperbole lol.
Let's face it the media and scrutiny in here is nothing.
Can you imagine if Spezza was Tony Romo? That guy gets 10 times the criticism yet I've never heard him ask for a trade.

Add in the fact Ottawa is a small city and everything he did/does gets back to people... like myself who think he's a complete douche bag and just tell people what they have seen or been around.  Doesn't take long to find a person between the age of 25-35 who has witnessed Spezza's stupidity.

Also down in Dallas not sure Matt Spezza can introduce himself to wealthy people looking to buy a car as "Jason Spezza's brother" anymore because no one will have a clue who he is talking about.  He is now just another fat free-loader.

There should be enough Treliving's and other former Canadians to keep Fatt Spezza well-fed.

Same group of people who thought Filatov didn't get a fair shake and is the Sens best prospect. It's a group of morons, that's it.
