Yup, car crash... Melnyk's fault. Goal off a dump in, Melnyk didn't spend enough money to make sure the puck doesn't take crazy hops off the boards. I can't stand the guy but everything gets blamed on him without people even hesitating.

It's always more settling to blame a single person... but this year, there's blame to go around at all levels... which is even more frustrating. Like a perfect storm of crap happening all at once.

We'll see what the off-season brings.

I wasn't wrong. Mistaken, perhaps, but never wrong.

Cameron was Melnyk's candidate for HC and MacLean had no choice but to take him. I thought Reeds was also a forced choice. If they played together 35 years ago I don't think that's much of a reason for hiring him as an assistant. But, whatever.

I got a bad haircut a couple of weeks ago (it's better now); you've seen Melnyk's hair -- clearly it was his fault, right?

And yet it's still in vogue to dump everything on Spezza. What is it that NEELY keeps saying? It's not his fault but he is the problem.

I prefer Hopper's quote (Kevin Spacey in A Bug's Life) -- "When you're in charge, *everything's* your fault."

Spezza isn't in charge. MacLean is not in charge (not fully; he gets to make decisions like not playing JOB). Eventually you get to Melnyk, so it's his fault.
