I was hoping against hope that ROR might wind up here, but it was not to be.

At this point, all I am pretty sure of is that we'll make a trade. Absolutely no idea what it will entail.

everybody is convinced we're going the buying way well i'm not sure if we start losing, why bother. won thing for sure i'd be extremely surprised to see BM go after a rental without insurance of prolonging the contract. at this point I have a bad feeling it's someone like T Ruutu. with D going back the other way. Carolina is in dire need of Dmen.

Nope... not unless there is a piece that can help the Sens win now coming back which I don't believe LA is willing to part with.  There is no point in dealing Michalek.

Tyler Toffoli would do it for me... But I would think it would take more than just Michalek to get that return..

Anyone that is added to the Sens should be a great skater.

Whoever fought me on trading Cowen...I hope you're eating dung right now. -7 in his last two games. By far the worst player on both sides of the ice last night.

You can't just trade Cowen for the sake of trading him. Do I think he's going to be anything more than a bottom pairing D man, at best a #4 guy? No I don't but throwing away a 6'6, 22 year old D man for a 2nd round pick is stupid. If you can use him in a package to upgrade a spot on your roster that needs a player then absolutely you pull the trigger if it's there but you don't give the guy away. You are better off trying to turn Cowen into a legit NHL D man and failing then getting a 2nd round pick or anything like that for him because that's just totally useless to the organization.

Per Bobby Mac, Ehrhoff has been asked to provide the list of 8 teams he can't be traded to.

Not a bad d-man, but not good enough for us to trade for...unless we're shipping out, say, Phillips and another d-man.

Cowen is going to come into next year, just hammer guys every night, play sound defensively, and is gonna shut allll the haters up. He did that once in his career, he will do it again.

We'll see. Might be too early to give up on him and I concede that point but IMO there are a ton of red flags and the biggest is hockey sense which can't really be taught. If his upside at best is a Coburn (which I think it is) trading him for an upgrade (Like Ehrhoff or Edler) isn't the worst idea in the world.

Ehrhoff is terrible. Edler is an upgrade but I find it hilarious that the people who trash Cowen as if he's Hitler think he's gonna command a guy like Edler through trade.
