Because he was a lazy sow who enjoyed banned substances though. If Lehner falls into that BS, he can forget about being an NHLer.

I was excited about Jani Hurme, Brian Elliott and Martin Prusek once too.

Goalie prospects are such a Cussing crapshoot, until Lehner plays some serious NHL time anything can happen, regardless of his playoff MVP and Calder Cup win. I'm just not getting my hopes up.

I appreciate your point for sure, but none of those guys had Lehner's pedigree, nor did they put a pro team on their back and lead them to a Cup. I think he's the real deal, but again, I understand.

Elliott was basically an MVP NCAA goaltender, national champion, and AHL all-star. Not a bad resume. Elliott is a good goaltender so not sure why people are saying he was a bust or suggesting he is anything other than an NHL goaltender.

I would throw Peumple in there too, the forgotten prospect.

Peumple sucks. Matt Puempel is pretty good though. Hopefully he has a nice, fully healthy year with a trade to a contender mixed in there if Peterborough still sucks.

Here's how the Sens (or at least a member of their staff) ranked them for the Hockey News Future Watch:

1. Zibanejad
2. Lehner
3. Stone
4. Silfverberg
5. Noesen
6. Puempel
7. Borowiecki
8. Da Costa
9. Wiercioch
10. Prince

The fact the org has Silfverberg 4th speaks to the depth they have on the "farm".

I guess Stone's performance in one playoff game really made an impression.

Like Ev said, it was done well before the playoffs. His assist in game 5 left a lasting impression for sure but he's done so much in the last 2 years to be considered a top prospect in Ottawa and the NHL. I was never sold on him but that's turning out to be very wrong. I thought he might have to take on a Chris Neil type role to make it in the NHL but he just has to be Mark Stone. He could very well become a Dustin Penner type player with more of a work ethic.

He's not a bust at all, but I still don't believe he was as talented as Lehner. I wouldn't have voted Lehner over the other guys if I didn't truly believe he was special.

Silf, for sure. BoroCop is going to be interesting to watch, too.

Still Lehner for me, although really excited about Noesen and Silfverberg and Boroweicki and Ceci to name a few.

Silfverberg right now. Lehner longer-term, but he's got to hunt down Anderson first and I don't think Neo is giving up his spot yet

Noeson by a long shot. Not because I think he'll be our best player out of our prospects but because I'm not sure exactly how good he'll be. I do have some pretty high hopes. Ahhhhh!

I mentioned before that he's put up basically the same numbers that Foligno did in junior (at the same age). Maybe he'll be like Foligno, except that he'll put it all together and realize his potential. That'd be cool.

I hope so, because we don't need a second Marc Methot, methinks.

Really? Foligno was that good? I think from what I read that management is much higher on Noeson then what they thought Foligno could be. Maybe they see another step to his game that doesn't translate into stats. At any rate he's who I'm most intrigued about. Pageau is very intriguing as well. I don't have high hopes until I see some great numbers in the AHL with him.

Foligno and Noesen were both late 1st round picks. I imagine that, at the time they were picked, the franchise was roughly equally excited about both.

The point is, whatever a guy is before he hits the NHL, it doesn't mean a whole lot until he can actually translate that previous success at the NHL level. Everything else is "potential," and nothing but.

I think Murray's believes Noesen 's upside is higher.

Murray drafted Noesen so he's far more familiar with him. He seems to be systematically purging all Muckler draft picks, probably due to faith/familiarity not some vendetta.

I guess Greening and Condra are next Sarcasm

Seriously...how many Muckler picks are left? Daugavins, Condra, Greening...
