It's obviously hard to say, but if i was ranking them I'd have than as Lehner, Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Stone, Noesen, Boroweicki - then a gap, then the rest.
GM Hockey
POLL: Which Senators prospect are you most excited about?

But I used a stripper reference. That's an automatic win.wprager wrote:Cap'n Clutch wrote:shabbs wrote:I like stripper pole's.

I would throw Peumple in there too, the forgotten prospect.

Peumple sucks. Matt Puempel is pretty good though. Hopefully he has a nice, fully healthy year with a trade to a contender mixed in there if Peterborough still sucks.
Here's how the Sens (or at least a member of their staff) ranked them for the Hockey News Future Watch:
1. Zibanejad
2. Lehner
3. Stone
4. Silfverberg
5. Noesen
6. Puempel
7. Borowiecki
8. Da Costa
9. Wiercioch
10. Prince
The fact the org has Silfverberg 4th speaks to the depth they have on the "farm".

I guess Stone's performance in one playoff game really made an impression.

Good prospects coming down the pipe... but probably only Silfverberg cracks the Ottawa Sens this year.
Good articles in both the Citizen and the Ottawa Sun about Weircioch's injury to his throat. The doctors were saying he would need a year or two before he gets back to playing.. He defied their odds and finished the year in Bingo.
Hope the gets the chance in the pre-season this year. He seems to be one of those players, like Lehner, who plays better in the NHL than the AHL. I mean he can't be worse than Gilroy can he?
Hoags wrote:I'm too cynical about our past with goalies we drafted to really care about Lehner, the prospectitis on hfboards got to me as well.
One of our goalies took us to the SCF and still flamed out and got banished to the KHL for a while.
Whenever Lehner is ready to make the jump I'll see.

Because he was a lazy sow who enjoyed banned substances though. If Lehner falls into that BS, he can forget about being an NHLer.

I was excited about Jani Hurme, Brian Elliott and Martin Prusek once too.
Goalie prospects are such a Cussing crapshoot, until Lehner plays some serious NHL time anything can happen, regardless of his playoff MVP and Calder Cup win. I'm just not getting my hopes up.

I appreciate your point for sure, but none of those guys had Lehner's pedigree, nor did they put a pro team on their back and lead them to a Cup. I think he's the real deal, but again, I understand.

Elliott was basically an MVP NCAA goaltender, national champion, and AHL all-star. Not a bad resume. Elliott is a good goaltender so not sure why people are saying he was a bust or suggesting he is anything other than an NHL goaltender.
