yeah I'd like to see what Regin can do on the wing as wel. he might take Foligno's spot on the left if he can't produce. or he can center the third line. that's all if he stays healthy.
also might be part of a trade at a later date.
I would of been completely surprised if we would of walked away from him for nothing. he's got value in some way or another.

Having a 2nd line of Regin-Turris-Alfie -- does not have a lot of grit on it... I think PM likes grit on every line...

I don't think Regin can be top-six on this team. His cap hit indicates he's a third liner at best. I'm not saying that cap hit is supposed to indicate this, but Murray *just* gave him this contract, so that is his estimation of his worth to the team right now. He would not think twice about signing a 3rd/4th line player for $800K.

It's pretty evident that Regin is a PMac type of player. I'm sure Maclean had a lot of say in this deal. Good for regin, hopefully that shoulder injury subsides and he can play to his potential.

Kelly fits on 30 teams in the NHL. He could be a fantastic peice to add to a team that needs guys that know how to win and guys that now how to lead.

I think Murray tried and adds him and another top 6 guy.

people want Konopka re-signed... and they want KElly signed... and they want a top 6... but then the Sens signed Regin....

So is Regin the Sens top 6 FA signing? And how does KElly fit onto a team that re-signs Konopka, and still hav room for Jim O'Brien and Zack Smith....

Look back at the playoff threads - people were calling for a re-signing on the spot. Pretty sure Neely was one of them. I just get lost in the discussion and the inconsistency.

I don't think that you're looking at the whole picture. The fact that Regin's been injured so much clearly brought his value down. You can't just say that he was signed for $800K and is therefore a 3/4 liner. Clearly, other factors are involved.

This isn't to say that he's definitely a top-6 player, just that your logic is off.

Not to mention where does Penner fit into all of this? lol. Same with the defence - I remember being told to find 10 UFA d-men better than Kuba, and now people are suggesting Garrison and Zanon > Kuba, but when I hypothetically listed 10 people I was "an idiot" lol.

The way people are reacting you'd think the Sens were rolling 5 forward liens, 4 defensive pairings and 3 goalies...

Kelly might be an option - and if he is, you don't re-sign Konopka I guess. Nor do you re-sign Winchester obviously.
