The guy is a healthy scratch. He is done in STL. It's not going to take a 1st rounder, is my point.
If there's a bidding war the price may go up to a first. The market will set the price.

GMs will do anything to get a player they want.
That said, I am in agreement with people, Stewart would look really good playing in the top 6 in Ottawa.

SpezDispenser wrote:To me personally, Penner's career has been going in a downwards spiral for a while. When I watched Edmonton, he didn't skate hard, didn't back check and IMO they were lucky to get a 1st for him. When he got to LA, he appeared fat and lazy - even if it was the coach.
Meanwhile, say what you will, but a guy who was 22 and 23 when he scored 28 goals has considerable upside, whether or not he had an off year. Add in that it was in a Hitchcock system and you can give him the benefit of the doubt a lot more.
Again though, watching Fat Penner recently, I'd say that he's turned the corner noticeably and might not be a write-off after all - but I still say he's not worth nearly as much as Stewart - who I believe would be a sought after asset if they put him on the market.

He never was but leave it to the media to form peoples opinions for them. Canadian and Edmonton media didn't have his as the scape goat this year.
