Can you cite where you heard/saw that?

various Twitter'ers. They interviewed Boyle and he said Robinson was a favourite of his father's.

Brodie Brazil ‏@brodiebrazilCSN
Full circles are amazing. Dan Boyle tells me his father's favorite player: Larry Robinson #sjsharks

David Pollak ‏@PollakOnSharks
Dan Boyle on Larry Robinson as new #sjsharks associate coach: "Everybody thinks the game differently, as players, as coaches . . .

A little bit of speculation, who knows if he wouldn't come to Ottawa still. Don't even know if SJ wants to trade him.

How does his dad feel about Denis Potvin?

The Wild had an influx of season ticket sales after their big moves this summer - I read it was a 1000 in 2 days.

I suppose, Ryan strikes me as a huge douche though, maybe just me.

Minneapolis/St.Paul doesn't have a lot of Habs/Leafs making up most of the population Smile

That's a different story, I think you're right, I think he's a dink as well.

My guess (though I still think we make a trade):

Greening/Spezza/Michalek
Silfverberg/Turris/Alfie
Regin/Zibanejad/Latendresse
Condra/Smith/Neil

I would like to see Zib on the RW eventually to replace Alfie when it's time. No point having Spezza, Turris, Zib down the middle when our top-six is weak (next season). I like Silf playing with Alfie. Good experience learning from one of the best Swedes of all time. Regin/Latendresse with Zib is a great two-way line that can score and get up and down this ice quickly. Condra-Smith-Neil will be the shutdown/energy line.

Butler carried as extra forward. JOB first bottom six call-up. Da Costa first top-six call up.

O'Brien in and Zibanejad out IMO.

Bingo's going to have a nice looking lineup this year depending on who gets sent where (CHL/AHL)

zero chance they sibject Zib to Bingo. Every other Swede has hated it and he was the last cut last year. He will make the team this year. JOB on a two-way.

JOB might get a 1-way this summer. Daugavins may get a 1-way awarded to him by an arbitrator as well.

Zib might have to go to Bingo, who cares if Swedes hated it, tough Dung. They don't seem to be very impressed by him lately anyway.

If Greening is in our top-6 again I will vomit, Latendresse and Silfverberg please.

We'll see. He has to flat out beat players for a spot - and I don't see who he's gonna beat right now. I'd expect O'Brien to sign a similar contract to Condra - that is, a 1-way, but for ~800K. There's no harm in playing in the AHL - and really, who cares if the Swedes hated it, give me a break. If you want to make it, go down there, kill it and get called back up.

Not saying he won't make but I don't think he does. The AHL is an option for him and the best one in terms of where he wants to be and where the team wants him to be because the Swedish 2nd league is garbage and any Swede would take the AHL and being closer to the NHL than ever playing in their 2nd league.

Also, no chance in hell JOB is on a two way deal. 0% chance and that's being generous. He's on the team because he decided to man up, work hard, and become a player. He has. JOB is an NHL player and IMO will be a pretty good one.

I agree with what you're saying that he won't get assigned to Binghamton, but he would not hate it and would not be opposed to going to the AHL. He has already stated such, so has Silfverberg, etc. They will do whatever the team asks of them. Sure for guys from Stockholm it's a bit of a drag living in Binghamton, but for other guys from small Swedish towns, it's not that big of a deal.

I've said before that I could see him never playing Binghamton as it's very, very rare for a top Swedish pick to play in the AHL. It's usually straight to the NHL for them.

Z-Bad will quite clearly go to Bingo if he doesn't make the team out of camp. Saying otherwise is just demonstrating a lack of knowledge of the situation.

Yah, no chance Zibanejad isn't in Ottawa organization next year whether it's in Ottawa or Bingo. Chance of him going to Sweden are the same as JOB not getting a 1 way deal.

They'll be in much better shape regardless. It's amazing how poor a season they just had. This one'll be better.

Bingo will be more than fine. They have a solid group of vets that will actually contribute to Bingo instead of just take up a spot. Jessimen, Benoit, and Eckford, they will all produce at some level and can really lead that team. Benoit will probably be named captain if I had to guess. Vets make a very good living in the AHL and that shouldn't be over looked.

The other thing is vets coming into the organization on 2 way deals KNOW they play well and they will get a chance at some point in the NHL. This will only continue to improve things from top to bottom in the organization.

Especially when their AHL salary is $300K. Nod

Exactly. I don't feel sorry for vets signing in the AHL, they make more than 99% of the people in NA anyways. It's a good living and they are playing a game at the end of the day. The organization also makes these guys feel important because in the end they really are.

Absolutely. I understand feeling bad for them though. They spend their lives trying to make the NHL and fall short. That's sad in a way.
