I;m not sure we ever signed Petersson to be honest. I remember the whole ordeal of him maybe signing, but as far as I know, it was never confirmed.

Spezza, Phaneuf and Burns just got molested - twice in a row on 2 separate goals. Come on guys! One of the goals by ex-Sens Kaigerodov.

I feel real bad for Spezza -- he wanted that gold medal really bad.

Overall I think he had a pretty good tournament.

I'm pissed at this result actually. This was spezza's chance at redemption and really felt he was on a mission. How the Diddle do these guys let down against a struggling russian team??? FFS they just beat a very talented swedish team

Me too. He basically carried the offense for a while too, but tonight...a couple of real bad mistakes from him and Boourns.

And who scored that highlight reel goal for the Ruskies?? None other than Alexei Kaigorodov, who spent 6 games with Ottawa in 06/07. It was hoped he'd be our #2 centre. Never thought I'd hear his name again.

While it can easily be coincidence in the very same way that average NHLers or non-NHLers can have amazing tournaments or one highlight reel goal, it can also be a case of a young kid with an ego and a team with high expectations that just didn't work.

It was pretty much a "you be the #2 C or else". He chose else.

He was just one of those whacko Ruskies that ran back to Russia as soon as things didn't go his way. I don't know how much money he makes, but it's probably more than he would've made in the AHL when Ottawa demoted him.

Meh...people are free to make their choices, I suppose. And if you grew up in Russia, I guess you're used to living there anyway. I can't say I ever blame someone for returning to their homeland. God knows if I lived in a different country, I would be homesick for Canada.

Man... Russia has our number at this tourney of late eh? Frig.

At least it's the least-important tourney. Which is why the Russians are good at it..heehee.
