Mendes: Milan Michalek won't play tonight. They are hoping he plays tomorrow vs WAS. Anderson will start.

See my post above. I've been saying Versage was wrong for several minutes now.

I think we've all known he'd be wrong for a long time now...

Yeah but I actually said it. Which is why I pointed out what I said because I was right and that's what I do. Dancing

I thought what you did was drip with sarcasm so drippingly sarcastic that it's impossible to tell if you're being serious or not... seriously...

Ahhhhh!

There's a fine line between sarcasm and being 100 percent right pretty much all the time. Wink

Someone tell me again why they picked him up off waivers?

To stand in front of Brodeur with his stick in the air blocking his view....

The funny thing is if this was 20 years ago and it was Roger Neilson who directed him to do it, everyone would be talking about how he was a visionary. Hell, Neilson was the guy who put a defenseman on the ice instead of a goalie to defend a penalty shot and forced the rule change.

I'm a Devils fan, through and through, but I scoffed that they actually treated Avery like that because of his antics. The most he could be accused of (in that instance) was acting like a dumbass, but if you strip the act down, it was in it's essence not against the rules (unless you apply unsportsmanlike conduct, but then again that's the catch all for whatever they want to nail you with when you haven't done something violating any of the other rules).

But that's an entirely different discussion.

God I wish I had the skills to do video editing. I'd create one of those spoof NHL commercials where Cooke skates in and crushes some guy from behind or blindside. Then slowly roll it backwards with the words, what if cooke gave up his dream to play in the NHL....

I thought Avery was pretty effective for the Rangers since they got him from Dallas (he was a bust there). He's been pretty bad this year it seems.

Avery can be a good player, but he has that Matt Cooke syndrome where he just can’t help himself from doing something challenged. Couple that with Torterella’s short fuse, and that has “bad mix” written all over it.

Meh, Avery never really goes out to hurt people though. The guy is a total douche bag but fact of the matter is he plays the game hard and clean for the most part... it's more a reflection of his play this year than his personality.
