Not bad Dash. It only took you 10 posts to chyme in with the Nash love.

How about this? Nash hatty with a 5-3 Sens victory. And just for SSF we'll make it a 3 assist night for Antoine.

Game won't be over till 9:30 earliest, and by the time they shower/dress, even if they go straight from the arena they aren't getting in the air until 11PM at the earliest. If they're lucky. The flight time is 3-1/2 hours, so they land around 2:30 AM, and get home after 3AM. Many of them have kids who will get up around 7 - 8 AM; they don't care that daddy only got 3-4 hours of sleep.

Then they play the Leafs at 7PM. Nice.

Why not spring for the extra night at the hotel, take the morning flight to Ottawa (save no not having to hire a charter), arrive in town just in time for the afternoon pre-game nap, and then play the Leafs?

I have a really bad feeling that we are in for a 3 game losing streak.

I thought travel on game day was frowned upon by the NHL as a whole and is to be avoided except under special circumstances like the Richardson tragedy. I don't think it's a Senators thing. I'm pretty sure it has to do with making sure the team is there on time for the game and there's no risk of the game being postponed or cancelled due to travel issues.

Then they should have made it an afternoon game in Columbus.

He must be talking about the strong smell of our performance.

Maybe it was a grammatical error and should have read like this?

"Also (It should be noted that), off the ice (at least) we are having a strong performance."

Sounds good but I'm sure there's a lot of variables that go into schedule making and perhaps this is a justification for having some extra man power to go over each teams schedule with a fine tooth comb and correct things like this where ever possible.

Wow. Is Smith being sent down or are we benching a forward?

Not sure, sounds like they are rewarding him based on good performance in Bingo.

I'd assume Ruutu is sitting if that's the case? Kind of hurts his trade value but great for JO. I gave up hope for him last season.

I guess a Rick Nash domination but a Sens victory would suffice.

They could easily work in a rule in the next CBA that prevents night games the day before if a flight is required. Or even take the "flight" part out and just not have games at night if travel is required.

It would be nice to see a veteran forward and a veteran Defenseman benched and have Lee and O'Brien inserted into the lineup. I'm fine with benching Ruutu and Kuba but I think it would be better to bench Kovalev and Kuba and continue from there.

Please, please, please let this be a benching for Regin. Kelly is moving up to 2nd so the 3rd line centre spot is open, and that's the perfect spot for O'Brien. Regin would be useless on the 4th line since he doesn't use his size.

Of course Clouston is probably thinking of O'Brien on the 4th line and Winchester sitting. Dammit!

It's easy to say and easy to put the rule in I just don't know how easy it is for schedule makers having to deal with multi-use stadiums and trying to make every team happy.

What an absolutely HORRIBLE message that would send if he benched Winchester. Jesse was the lone bright spot and by far the best Senator in that 4-0 loss. If Winchester is benched then watch Clouston lose that room in an aweful hurry.

Good for O'Brien, but who's out?

I agree with prages. I think it should be Regin and all signs are pointing that way aren't they? Regin got an extremely short leash to make it on line two and he's been bumped after one game. To me that reeks of a trip to the press box but I could be wrong.
